We know Downes strengths and weaknesses, hopefully we can capitalise on this.

If we show the same organisation and effort as we did against FGR then we might be in with a shout.

Excellent preview Forever, many thanks for this.

Going for a 2-2 draw, ever the optimist.

Torquay United v FGR (Boxing day/Jan 1ST) double header match day thread

Some feed back from a friend? There are only a handful of games FG have not scored in, defensively they play four at the back and don't play a high line, apart from this they play quite a fluent system and are a large robust outfit who can play good football when given space. *Out of 4 games watche...

If you pay your money to go and abuse, boo and criticise your team you need to take a good look at yourself. It is also counter productive to the team. Better to stay away imo.

James Hurst suspended by club

I do wonder if, for some reason, he has had a falling out with a few guys at the club (maybe even Nico himself), and wants out. Perhaps this is his way of getting his own way. Silly if it is, especially given he may get a police record as a result. A salient point, I was a bit daft in the 80's and ...

Chairman's Statement

It seems whenever we reach rock bottom we just carry on digging.

I think the fans, the board and the management are doing their best, now it is time for the players. A lack of talent or skill I can forgive, a lack of effort I can't. Some of these players need to grow a pair and put a shift in.

Good to see Nicho giving a local player a chance.

I'll judge him on his performances for the Gulls not on his previous clubs or choice of fancy dress outfit.

Best of luck to him.

Just hope we can put in a competitive performance to give the crowd something to shout about.

Latest odds from one of the bookies are:

Torquay Win 9/2
Draw 11/4
Grimsby win 4/7

I'm going for a 2-2 draw

Wonder why they couldn't use the facilities at their acedemy founded to provide players for Exeter and Plymouth.

With all due respect to you bixie I'm afraid I wouldn't want any of them near TUFC again. The people on board now are running a club properly IMO.

ticket pricing

I would suggest letting kids under16 enter free to the family stand if accompanied by an adult. At the moment they get in free if under 7.

I think the club could afford it as at the moment the stand is virtually empty for games and it might encourage families on a limited income to attend.
