Torquay United v H&W Sat 20th Apr 3pm
Downes praised the supporters and players when due which was refreshing to hear instead of blaming everyone and everything around him when things went wrong.Whatever happens wish him well and if we survive in a new regime would be happy to give him a chance to see what he can do.

Presumably the preferred bidder comes up to the credentials required. It does sound as though they haven't stated an exact figure for purchasing the club otherwise you wouldn't wait to see what division we would be in if they'd already made a firm offer financially.

I may be way off the mark but could it be that Edwards gets hold of the club then continues to take it lower and lower (with Osborne lurking in the background)so that it can be brought up again in another year that it's no longer sustainable and bring up the building situation again with the council...

In the years Osborne has owned the club there was no intention of him wanting success on the field of play ,yes a possible stay of execution may be five years but if he had been able to obtain land within six months of owning it he would have jumped at the chance.Compare him to the likes of Mike Bat...

Think Osborne will have to come up with another idea of intention wherever he heads next as the new stadium statement must be getting to the stage where even Worzel Gummidge would realise it may be a lie!

Mike Bateson knew the limitations of the club but was an astute businessman, sold players on when he saw a profit but also purchased new players within means .He didn't overspend but also saved where he could so more money could be ploughed into the team.He was an owner not looking to make from the c...

Whatever transpires with whoever takes over can only be of benefit and the TUST have the clubs best interests at heart which is different from the previous/current incumbent. How refreshing at Easter to end the life of the one who tried his best to kill us off and hopefully soon have a rebirth with m...

:goodpost: :goodpost: God there is some shit written on here. People google someone and then on that basis decide he is the devil incarnate. Everyone at Port Vale hates him so what - As he was beaten up badly by some of their so called supporters no wonder he couldnt wait to jump ship. Inexcusable i...

A choice of Osborne v Smurthwaite is like being asked would you rather live under Hitler or Stalin. Neither appear to have any redeeming qualities. I'm no expert and doesn't sound ideal but I guess as an analogy if your on the Titanic and there's one lifeboat available to save yourself you have to ...

To my mind anyone wanting to take over the club and put money in to it can only be an improvement, the fans may not be able to continue funding the club particularly out of season when minds are on other matters.Whatever Norman Smurthwaite is like as a person has no justification for "fans"...

A good reason to pay TUST Go Fund Me so Osborne won't be able to get his mitts on it.

The way forward without a new stadium?
What the club hasn't been good at is sell on fees ,it can't be too difficult apart from a possible sale of a player to also set up a percentage fee if sold on to another larger club afterwards the potential income must be worth doing as often as possible.
