nickbrod wrote: 18 Apr 2018, 11:14 What is required? To finish fourth from bottom would be the best to hope for in the slimmest of slim chances (ala Blackadder) that somebody else above has off the field problems and goes into administration!
Now where did I put my pillow? zzzzz
So if Dagenham go into administration, which looks likely after reading the Evening standard article, They can not find anyone to invest and the previous owner fell out with a section of fans and just walked away. Does that mean the 4th relegation spot becomes void and they would get offered the chance to stay in the NL?
Our season has been so bad! We do not even have a chance of making 4th from bottom. Its so sad its funny. What a complete disaster the last few years have been.
The only thing that gives you hope is football its self! 91-92 Burnely were in the 4th division now they look like they will be heading into Europe, Bournmouth were in the 4th Division in 2001 now look at them. Accrington will more than likely be playing Sunderland next year in Division 1!
We are at our lowest point in history or will be at the weekend when our relegation is confirmed, Owners are despised by almost everyone the Manager seems hopeless the players not much better than rubbish.
Maybe we all hope there is someone out there with pots of money who maybe used to go Torquay for summer holidays and is ready to be our Knight in shinning armour...
Maybe in 6 years time when we are in the championships playoff spots we will look back at these moments with sombre reflection.
One thing I am sure of is we really cannot get any lower than we are right now!!!! Can we?

Torquayunited v FC Halifax 14/4/18

Mellow Yellow I understand the frustration with yesterday performance and I am sure there have been many disappointing performances throughout the season. I was lucky enough or unlucky enough a the case maybe to see the home game against Dagenham and did not think things could get any worse after that night. After that performance I would have thought we would have been relegated several weeks ago. But No with 3 games left we still have a chance. My point is at this stage of the season it really is just about 3 points, Would love for Torquay to be playing free flowing attractive football, its been along time since we saw that type of play from the Gulls. As said on a previous post I will take 3 of the worst football games ever known to man if it meant 3 wins and staying up. It has been such a poor season with so little to cheer about! We have to celebrate a win no matter how it comes!

I honestly believe if we win all 3 games we will stay up. After such a shocking season I cannot believe we are still in with a chance of avoiding the drop.
Even if Woking beat Guisley they might still need to get something from Dover(they have not won since Feb 10th)
The question is have we got the guts/balls to win all 3 games. That is what I am having issues with.
And lets not forget we play Guisley week on Tues so it will work in our favour regarding the games played by the time they get to Plainmoor they should be done for..
We need to get the result at Hartlepool. A scrappy 1-0 will do...

Are we the only Fan club/fanzine where more people seem disappointed with a win than if we actually lost the game.
For those that missed or do not understand TORQUAY 1-0 Halifax. We won the game gained 3 points gave ourselves hope....
What I would have given for some games this season where it could have been the worst game in the world but we actually would have won or even drew.
I will take the Hartlepool game being worse game of football ever seen in the history of football if it allows to take 3 points!

Torquayunited v FC Halifax 14/4/18

Does it matter that Halifax have played however many games in a week. I really do not care! We won 1-0 that is all that matters.
I am sure if one day in the future Torquay managed to beat Barcelona in the champions league we were spend the thread discussing that they are not as good as the team from the 70's. And why wasn't Clarke Osbourne there!!!
It has been a shocking season but we are still in with a chance of staying up.. Let at least have some hope for a few days.
If we can beat Hartlepool and Guisley do us a favour. We might be able to stay up.... Who would have thought we would still have a chance..

Woking have not one a game since 10th Feb so it is difficult to believe they will win there last 2 games.
If we beat Hartlepool next Sat I truly believe that we can do this.
Barrow last 4 games 3 are away.. And as porky said they need two wins for safety.
We have to believe... Lets get behind the team for the last 3 games and do this. Let the inquest about ownership and who to blame start if officially relegated or the end of the season.
Come you Gulls
Healey will play a major role in our survival

Current form on the last 5 games
Woking drawn one lost 4 of the last 5
Barrow won 1 drawn 1 lost 3 of the last 5
Gulls won 3 lost 2
If Barrow lose Tues and we can win at Hartlepool next Sat. This is not over..... The fat lady has sat back down for the moment...

But I do feel as if we as fans shouldn't be moving to watch other clubs when we get relegated, we need to try our best to get rid of the ownership and owers and try to revive the club
So if and when we get relegated who does everyone protest against? And I am not being flippant here! Are we to protest against Harrup for picking Owers as the Manager accusing him of not knowing enough about football. Or are We protesting against Osbourne for not coming to watch this shower every week? What are the protests signs going to entail? Osbourne stop paying the wages, Stop promising full-time next season. Stop spending money on a academy or new training facilities.
If he walks away which I assume is what most want? What happens the supporters trust takes over without a pot to piss in. Some rich weathly Torquay fan comes out of the woodwork and takes us to the promise land. You know half the clubs in national league are looking for news owners and maybe will not be around next season.
Who's fault is it they we have been a shower of shite all season, Cannot defend cannot attack is it Osbourne? Maybe if he would have come to watch every week we would be mid-table!!
We have been rubbish and in a rubbish league we cannot even secure mid-table. Owers has been a complete let down. Thats who the protests need to be against he has had 35 games and done nothing. Time to go so we can start with a clean slate...

OK this is it, after the despair of the last two results... I am posting today with full belief Positive energy synergy and all that, I do not like being a negative nelly!!!Got to believe it is still possible......... Healey back from suspension Halifax are there for the taking last 4 games we win end up on 49 points just enough to stay up...They all went go-karting yesterday so team spirit will be great and maybe the defense will know who there teammates are!
Say we are staying up say we are staying up........

Torquay v AFC Fylde 11/04 (was pp on 3/3/18)

I do not see the point of associating blame, The chairman will take much of the wrath along with Owers and Harrop. Ultimately we were not good enough have not been for the last few seasons to many loan players maybe. In fairness I think Nicho had to go! Lets not go on the "He would have saved us train"!!! We were going no where and fast no wins in the first 10!!! They bring Owers in fair appointment at first glance, No one thought he would have such little impact. Its not worked he has done nothing had 37 games and we are in the same position. If it is a results business he has to go. Maybe should have gone a few weeks ago to give us a fighting chance.
Lets look for someone who can turn this ship around. We have to get winners in maybe change the whole team.
It is so frustrating, Some of the team in league have a job getting 700 fans through the door half of them seem to be on verge of going out of business, I just cannot get my around how bad we are and all season... When Ling went to Orient at the start of the season He apparently did not have any players on the books or maybe one or two! how come they are safe!
Why has it been so depressing supporting this team.. It even depresses me as I write.. How come it has been like this for 3 seasons. Can we get any lower being a Torquay fan..

Are we keeping this clown like we kept nicholson last season or shall we actually start afresh now and build something for next season
Agreed rubbish and been rubbish all season, Manager change made no difference. Lets really try and build something next season, Get a team together and when ready! come back stronger and ready to get promoted back in the league and stay there.
