GullPete if we win the remaining 5 matches, Not only will I think we will stay up! But I will also start believing in miracles the Easter bunny and Father Christmas.
Sadly I think we will all be put out of our misery on Tuesday night especially with dealing with suspensions!

If we win 4 out of the final 6 games, Do we think that is enough? If so The Dover game is the first in four that is not a must win? Most seem to think anything out of this game is a bonus. If we do win at Dover it would I believe put us in a great position to stay up..
The pressure on the last two games must have been immense.. To come through with two wins... maybe the footballing gods are looking out for us..

Warnock rates Healey very highly, Apparently he has been unlucky with injuries this season, but been fit for a couple of months but Warnock was reluctant to let him leave in the transfer window, needed some coverage for Cardiff's own injuries concerns. Cardiff now have a full squad available so Warnock called Owers and offered his services, Get some game time. Warnock still has a reall affection for Torquay after his short spell here in charge way back and will always try and help when he can. They were talking about it on the Mellow Yellow podcast last week. Could he be the difference and help us achieve the impossible!!

Just got home from work and went straight to the last pages of the game assumed the worst when read the last few entries about Owers not applauding the fans... But then look again OMG we won.... Survival hope alive for another few days at least.... Come on everybody we won away 2-0, It is still a long shot but you just never know........... I am sure if we survive by winning on the last day of the seasons Mr Owers will come give everyone in the ground a sloppy wet kiss........
If Mondays game is on and we win..... can we???

I'm sure your not daft ,mind you supporting this shower you certainly ain't sane !.
Clarke Osborne (CO) is a business man first & foremost, he acquired the club for approx £100k , (a complete steal) , he is investing on the premise of making a tidy profit not for the love of TUFC or for the love of football.
Any monies put into the club will no doubt be returned to CO in due course accompanied by a huge profit no doubt.
And for instance you managed to acquire a run down delapatated property & you had the means to, let's say, invest a few quid in making it a saleable asset, with out breaking the bank, for a tidy profit. Why wouldn't you try ?
O.K. before I go off and read every article ever written about Clark Osbourne, I thought the point of the forum was to share information and opinions(thanks Teigngull for your view) Should I just keep writing Osbourne a ***** and leave our Torquay alone! Thankfully I do understand that Clarke Osbourne is a businessman and he does not support Torquay! Shock horror I thought all clubs in England are owned by passionate fans who travel the length and breadth of the country following there investment I mean team! Before anyone accuses me of living in dreamland the last statement is meant as a joke!
How many people were wanting to invest in Torquay when Osbourne took over? As far as I am aware not many and I am sure someone will tell otherwise if that was the case!
He buys Torquay on the cheap?(again thanks Teigngull) correct! In the hope that the team heads upwards and he sells and makes lot of cash and waves goodbye to the English Riviera. Is it me or has it gone really bad who in there right mind would buy Torquay now? Is there any rich fans out there ready to purchase?
So why keep investing? Which surely he is having to do at the moment and will have to do next year in NLS. The analogy of buying a dilapidated property was used. So it seems he has brought the property and invested some money and the workman have done nothing for a year or two and he has just found out the property is on a Sinkhole.. How do you sell it now and how do you make any money?

Do you read this forum?
[quote]

Yes I read the forum and I hear Osborne does not interview with the press! Osborne wants the ground Osborne wants to destroy Torquay. Enlighten me where does that come from?
As far as I have read he is a business man he has no history of buying football clubs and disbanding them?
Is the dislike for him is because he has not owned a football club? that goes for half the owners of clubs in the league,
His company has some issues with a promised speedway stadium in Swindon, Yet to start.
Why invest in a Youth set up to bring the club to its knees, seems the wrong way to go? Why promise full-time next season again not the way to go to bring the club to its knees!

Am I naïve or missing something! The guy Osborne is painted as the destroyer of Torquay the grim reaper in disguise! I need someone to enlighten me! Osbourne buys into a struggling club Torquay as we were struggling for a injection of cash as Bristows pulled out, to take it as low as he can for the ground that Torquay lease from the cancel, Keeps spending money on running costs, One assumes the position we are in we must be barely making payroll. As Goody 2449 pointed out teams all around us seem barely able to make it to the end of season and are in debt up to there eyeballs.
Osbourne then makes a promise to keep full-time if or when we get relegated! Why? If he wants to bring the club to its knees? Why not just say we have to go Part-time, everyone would surely understand, then languish in the NLS for a few seasons then close it down? If he is loaning money to Torquay at high interest How does he expect to get it back? If you have money which I assume Osborne does is there not a easier way to make some money then destroy a football club like Torquay for a piece of land which they do not own? Why invest money in a youth set up again? I am not getting it all this work to destroy a club?
He changed manager when everyone thought it the right time to do, He went for Owers one assumes on the fact that he thinks he knows his way around the lower leagues. It has not worked out but how many manager changes do. Maybe if we would have gone with seasoned old pro things would be different but as we all know Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
What am I not getting?

At least we can debate for another week, what is needed to survive!!!
General consensus we need 6 wins out of the last 8 games for any chance of staying in this league....
Not losing or drawing this week keeps our dream alive....

Wonder who is going to win this one?
They must be thiniking thank god Torquay are coming into town, We can finally rid ourselves of this terrible home run we are on....
Thank god for Torquay! No matter how bad a run you are on it will change when the we come into town.....
They will score there winner in the 75-85 minute...
If we lose can we assume even the most optimistic of us assume that it is all over?

Maidstone v Torquayunited 10/3/18

After the two shocking home performances, then two weeks of not playing. Did we think it was possible to come back a different team. Maidstone must have been thinking thank god we have Torquay so we can end this miserable run. 3 defeats in a row is relegation form. The relegation has been on the cards for the last 2 seasons, Hover over the trap door long enough and you are sure to fall through. We are a very poor team with very poor players, Owners fault? yes. Manager out of his depth? Yes. The concern is we really might struggle in the conference league south. This team is so shockingly bad its is depressing. is anything going to change I very much doubt it. Lets just hope we go down with some dignity.

Can we Survive. Review of Remaining Fixtures

Like everyone I kept looking at the fixtures believing it was coming! The away draw against Macclesfield followed by two wins. I honestly thought we were on the rise. Then came the Dagenham games it was a home banker. How wrong can one be. Decent crowd at Plainmoor. Torquay were shocking, they were so bad we made Daggenham look good. We could not string more than two passes together. The defense, I really do not know what to say everytime Daggenham got the ball in our half they looked liked they might score. The first half was so bad and you thought OK second half get everyone singing off the same song sheet, lets go for it. Did not think it was possible to be worse than the first half! Sadly we were by a country mile. We cannot defend we cannot pass we can hardly score. Against Sutton defense was shocking again conceding after 6 minutes then taking a 2-1 lead which we could not even hold on to for a minute. You just knew they were going to score at the end it was coming. So looking at the fixtures can you see 6-7 wins! No way not unless we are able to play with a different team! It really is very depressing that the team can play that bad. We will be lucky to win 3 games.
I love Portugul optimism and I really want join him in believing the impossible can still happen. A while back someone wrote it the Hope that kills you! After seeing those two performances for me all Hope was extinguished!

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

OK under a month ago after the shocker against Bromley, I said to my daughter it feels like I am going over to pay my respects(watching Dagenham & Sutton) I explained if we go down who knows what will happen to the club!!! Fast forward and today I just said to her I am about to be part of the greatest escape since Steve McQueen.... Really 2-1 away who really saw that especially after Maidenhead getting back to 1-1... Last 3 games no defeats 2 wins 1 draw(2 away games) We are showing the form of champions... Now I know we are still in the relegation zone there is along way to go, I will be told not to get carried away.. But come on you really have to start to believe it written in the stars.. Come on you Gulls

Current Form in the National League.

I think we all agreed that Barrow was a must Win, Lost that and even the most optimistic would have feared the worst. I really think the Maidenhead game is not a must win game but a must not lose game.. If we avoid defeat we gain more momentum, Confidence going into our 3 home games. The mood of everyone team fans has changed somewhat since that horrific home game against Bromley!!!

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

I agreed need to go for a win, but Maidenhead have a great home record so a difficult ask. I do not think a draw would be the worst result! With 3 home games to follow 3 wins who know where we could be! I still believe that we will string enough results together to get our of this. And it is so important not to lose so we can keep momentum! Moving into our 3 home games with a 3 game unbeaten run will be great for confidence.
