Gulls v Halifax

It concerns me that Johnson has decided two thirds through the season to have a mini boot camp to improve fitness levels. 1, If the training regime has been right all season they should not need it. 2. Last time he did this we had players injured all over the place. 3. I am sure matches against Exe...

Next Season.

Back in Nov three points off the league leaders it is clear we were punching above our weight. The squad have done reasonably well in a tough division, but it is fairly clear the current squad is not promotion material. Hence why I am going to be ruthless in my choices: Keep; Wynter, Davis, Little, ...

Current squad

Imagine being 28 and you run on the pitch towards other teams fans, Christ what an absolute pollock. Embarrassing... get a life! Good job Woking FC did not apply the same rule when we scored our equaliser at their place last season leading to the Torquay fans pitch celebrations. This Woking fan mig...

Torquay United v Ebbsfleet United 25/1/20

desperado wrote: 25 Jan 2020, 11:43 Interesting to see Gary's comments about formations and how he will continue to change depending on the opposition strengths and weaknesses.
Yes, I picked up on those comment. At least not just the 'one trick pony' 'Owers' formation of 5-3-2

Re: AFC Fylde vs Torquay United 18/01/20

. Personally never got sucked into this 'we're going up' nonsense, our squad was never good enough, I have to admit I never did either, but most clubs run with thier championship winning sides in the first season of promotion, which I think is right and proper. In fact, I was amazed and delighted b...

Johnson out

Gary Johnson has done his bit and its now time for a new manager. 1 win, a 0-0 draw and 10 defeats is simply not good enough and unfortunatly Gary Johnson has to take the blame. GJ has to take the blame for what? A promotion in his first season in charge and a team building mid-table second season....

Torquay United v Halifax

I really don't understand what difference Keating would have made? He clearly isn't good enough for this level of football. Ruiri wouldn't have made any difference. He has had enough chances in the last 2 years and hasn't been able to force his way in. Granted he works hard but poor first touch and...

I asked this question a few pages back..... I'm still waiting for an answer......... :} I am all for different opinions but given the title of this thread the least I would expect would be for the 'managerial moaners' to corroborate their opinion with a 'named' replacement instead of 'going round t...

Dagenham and Redbridge (a) 04/01/20

The game had a 0-0 written all over it after the first twenty minutes. The team really is a mis-match at present - a left attacking midfielder playing left back and a centre back playing right back (both accounted well for themselves - Lewis I thought was colossal out-muscling his opponent time and ...

Get to 50 points and consolidate for next season. It's not too late for a play off push but 50 points should be our target asap and then evaluate.
Absolutely spot on.
