Part Time
Incidentally Dover's keeper is a full time teacher in London....I heard an interview with him during their cup run saying he was happy to play football part time and build a career at the same time....sensible chap IMO

Part Time
I, and I guess others, would argue all of our players are part-time
Many "professional" players I have known over the years are bored for most of the time. Even when taking into account long away trips, this certainly is not a standard 40 to 45 hour a week job..

Luke Young
2 scouts from Bristol Rovers in the bench today checking out Luke Young, one of whom was a stats man who essentially logs his runs, passes etc....., the other a chief scout. I should not eavesdrop really, but Paul Sturrock happened to be in the same row and they seemed quite keen on letting Paul kno...

I think this is a 'heat of the moment' posting as I would add Young, Downes, Guergon, Dawson and Ives to your three. I agree Luke Young should not be captain - he's trying too hard and I think he would be better with the responsibility of captain taken from him. It was a big ask for a young player ...

Attendance figures
I do remember going 2 or 3 times in the 80's when we had football league crowds under 1000 at home. Never thought those days would return Some of you may have seen this regarding Accrington v Hartlepool gate earlier this year http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/sport/11554220.Accrington_Stanley_regist...

to be fair I did question the validity of the information, but also to be fair operations are often brought forward when players are out of favour to ensure they are fit for the next season

Goodbye Hargreaves
....not 100% sure we have the whole story with Tongue, his performance at Kidderminster was possibly the worse I have seen by a Torquay player ever, as close to gross misconduct as you can see on a football pitch. It all seemed very strange that he "disappeared" after that match. Ive been ...

They might only be "a pub team" but they don't charge a lot against yet another "pub team"
perhaps the Torquay players should be the half time entertainment in a 5-a-side match !

Torquay v Braintree TUE 17th
Just a small point perhaps, but not only did Braintree travel down on the day and back the same night....but did anyone see their team bus? No plush backward facing seats, tables and coffee machines on this one. It was little more than a school bus.

I think Ajala was frustrated as opposed to lazy this evening, yes he made some wrong decisions, but I though he made more of an effort than most of the others

I am not sure if you noticed but when we went 4 up front, we did exactly that. Braintree had 2 clear shots on goal, one which led to a goal with 4 Torquay players all in the Braintree half of the pitch....they must have been told to stay up there, can understand 1 or 2 staying up but 4 for Christ sa...
