Altrincham may be a semi-professional club but that first half showed why they are a top team in this league. Having no front man to hold up the ball for our midfield to catch up with play is are Achilles heel. Where's Umerah when you need him. Time to bring on Waters, a natural striker, to run the channels if we are to get back in this game/

Pathetic formation in all honesty - got what we deserved.

Agreed, this formation never works, playing too deep as all midfielders, no threat.

Our strike formation is like the local bus service - wait ages for one then two come along at once. However both are still too late.

We have been poor tonight. If there was a specific game plan it was either a poor choice, a complete failure to execute it or the Alty mgr out game planned Gary.

Really poor - only Randell came out of that with any credit in my opinion.

Bad touches, misplaced passes, to many attempted dummies and flicks that really didn't come off and then after we've brought 2 small men on upfront started lumping it up.

One shot on target in the second half sums it up. We made the opposition look good and they just sat back and it seemed that we did too.

Our last convincing performance was on Boxing Day.

Bloody speechless after that
We need to get in a proper striker sharpish if we are not going to throw this golden opportunity away.

for all the people who have been slating Umerah i would have much preferred a 4-5-1 with Josh up top tonight!

What a clueless performance! You'd be forgiven for thinking we were at the other end of the table - could hardly string a pass together and so little cutting edge up front. I am struggling to think of anyone who played anywhere close to what is needed. Nemane and Whitfield might as well not have played after HT. Only 2 attempts all second half with one on target compared with 6 attempts all on target in the first half. They had 3 attempts, 2 on target - same as in the first half - and should arguably have scored a third (might have to vote for McDonald as MOTM for that save). Even when they went down to 10 we were clueless. With Sutton winning away at Stockport it is now game on at the top. Frankly, on this performance we will struggle to make the playoffs if the season goes to completion.
