National League Tonight

Post by portugull »

Tonight there are 10 games in the NL with Wrexham away to Maidenhead.

Our next opponents at Plainmoor on Sat 13 November are Dover Athletic who play tonight at Yate Town in a F A Cup replay after a 1-1 draw at Dover on Saturday 16 October.

Last week Dover travelled to Yate but the floodlights failed prior to KO and the 2 teams agreed to play at 8 30 but no later if the lights could be repaired.

The lights were repaired at 8.34 and Yate said OK and Dover said we are going home!!

What a weird decision. I wonder why?

Wrexham losing 2-0 and only have 10 men.

Matt Buse scores for Wealdstone against Grimsby Town!

So, unbelievably Grimsby lose to Wealdstone (Matt abuse goal!), Stockport lose at home to Barnet and Hollywood lose at Maidenhead!
Is this league going to be there for the taking??

Barnet win at Stockport. Crazy. Wealdstone beat Grimsby. It just goes to show in the NL anything can happen.

The Hollywood Film Guys must be wondering if £2 million on buying Wrexham was an expensive mistake. Still I guess £2m is small change to them.

Can we win at Wrexham? Anything is possible.

The results last night prove that there is no standout team in our League this season. Come on Gary rally the troops and lets go on a twenty match unbeaten run, like we have in recent seasons.

There is nothing to fear, the only thing stopping us is ourselves!!

Will Dover turn up on Saturday? The way they disrespected the League last season, they got off lightly with just a points deduction, they should have been demoted. Then the way they treated the FA Cup and Yate in not playing last week. I hope we thrash them and we never have to play them again after this season.

What last night proves is that talk of us not being able to compete this season because four clubs splurged a load of cash was bullshit. Unfortunately we didn't spend our little pile very wisely so are probably going to miss out this season.

Or that our pile was littler that people are imagining…

We're not playing them for 2 weeks. We have Wrexham away this weekend (with the Hollywood owners expected to be in attendance for a sell out crowd), followed by a weekend off (as we're out of the cup) and *then* Dover at home on the 13th.

A weekend off! Will that be enough for the injuries to recover? Can we not have 5 weekends off? Then we might be able to field a stronger team.
