SBP wrote: 08 Jul 2022, 14:19 If we are talking about an injury free fit Asa Hall then no question he makes a starting 11. However towards the end of the season when he did start or came on he looked a lot slower and leggy.
Asa at the end of last season "looked a lot slower and leggy" ought to be put in context. Last seasons small squad was not without injuries and in Johnsons own words (not mine) "We've had to push Danny and Asa straight back after injuries this season, and it hasn't done them any favours. They both played until they had nothing left".

Seems like former Billericay keeper Rhys Lovett was a 'trialist' tonight, and although he didnt have a lot to do, looked very comfortable when called upon.

I know Adam Seedhouse personally, was in the year below me at school and played quite regularly with him at times. I like the lad but he is not the answer.

Well that was interesting. Their number 14 iwa sgood their winger does anyone know who he was? I thought trialist C was very good and dylan did very well. But apart from that we wasn’t that good we didn’t really create alot. The kids second half wasn’t great either if they pur back ups for games against woking or Wrexham then we are gonna struggle. But a good game for olaf.

Updated again.

Two great signings confirmed today, think the defensive options are sorted. A goalkeeper is still a must and hopefully the loan market will hopefully provide us with a bit more attacking threat

I don't think GJ will waste his remaining budget on a GK, you see alot of teams sign players such as defenders, midfielders, strikers... I think we will be getting a good goalkeeper however I think this will be a loan signing at minimal cost..

Suspect Lovett may prove a decent acquisition!

After today’s signings, it’s looking like a couple more attacking options and we are in for a good season!

352 or 442? 433?? Plenty of midfield options, defence looks strong too

Hall’s captain and Laps is an engine, expect they’ll both start opening day. May take a few games to suss out our best XI

Other than Halstead you got todays starting XI bang on!

I think Lovett will be our number 1 but think Halstead may be given the chance to retain the spot during pre-season

In true GJ style there is a lot of competition for the CM positions
