Owers will be looking forward to this as a reserve team work out I would imagine

Maybe not as he refers to this as an opportunity for "revenge" after the 1-0 home league defeat recently.

Based on imagine merse. My opinion is league is more of an importance, remember the dilemma we faced at Bognor Regis.

Trouble is, Lucy x2, is that we haven't got enough fit players to make up a reserve team! I'd imagine Ryans Clarke & Higgins will get a run out and JonPaul Pitman if he's fit and the new French guy. I suppose a lot depends on which of our loanees will be available. The league is more important of course but the F.A. Trophy can generate some money. Also, I'd think Maidstone will also think the league is more important so I expect they will give some of their players a break. It's a home draw - that makes a change.

As a Whitby Town supporter (remember, only two leagues below United) I feel a little cross about the attitude towards the Trophy. Here, we would give anything for a good Trophy run (we failed at the first hurdle - again!). It isn't 'tinpot' or 'of less importance', believe me.

Also 1st Round winners get £6000 maybe not a lot but would help towards player wages.

I agree, we are not a big club who have the arrogance to decide what we will and will not chase.

We should give everything to the FA Trophy as it's a notable competition that ends with a day out at Wembley. It also gives our players more opportunities to gel and develop a winning mentality.

Think 6000 pounds would help very much so.

Winning is a habit we need to develop, whatever the competition.

I know we're shite at the moment (league position doesn't lie).... but I didn't realised we'd been relegated to the Vase just yet!

Who the hell is pulling these balls out of the bag. Maidstone probably have the best away record of anyone in the draw..
