Young exciting names, old exciting names and depending on who the constrain was with, a couple of others.
Knill is only looking at seriously good players. Royal complains on another thread about our going after Manset. Quite aside from the obvious flaws in his criticism, Royal's argument that chasing Manset (such as we did any meaningful chasing) ought to suggest that we're after this level of player, rather than, say, Craig Easton or Chris McPhee...
