This is good news - I would like to see this become a permanent move at the end of the season - he is someone who we could develop to both his and the Club's benefit.

I do not and have never thought that the team has been dropping points because of Joe Oastler the player,i like him as a player, plays it simple, and has a good clever short passing ability,i am glad he is staying.

For me it is the timing of him coming of the bench, and where he is being asked to play, saturday he was sat so deep he was almost a third centre back, thats my only issue, not the player.

Am pleased Oastler is staying. I watched his efforts on Saturday and found no grounds for criticism. It's unfortunate that his introduction late in games recently has coincided with us dropping points. If we had put our chances in the net before his arrival . . .

Great news.

He's had a bit of bad press recently (not of his own making, but due to PB's use of him) and I think he's lost a bit of form since we had all the postponed games at xmas. But when he had a run in the side, note how it coincided with our 7 (I think?) match unbeaten run and some beautiful football.

He had some storming games in that period and I was massively impressed. Dare I say that when he's on top form he has a much better all round game than Mansell?

And I am intrigued by SG's cryptic posting!

Might be the only news of the transfer window, so Joe can have his own thread.

Despite coming on in recent games and seeing things fall flat, I think he's an excellent player to have in and around the squad - versatile, combative, not afraid to get involved...unlike some of the loanees we've had in the past.

Don't count on it, Andy ;-)

They must be paying him decent money if he can afford a penis extension. I've been saving ages for mine.

Oh hang on ... :O

I was expecting this although im pleased- he's looked a good player in midfield and also a job he did at RB once went well.

well...i suppose we can say this FINALLY some transfer activity! (except hemmings extension too.) :scarf:

As our squad has depleted a little recently, this is welcome news. Seen him play once and was quite impressed. Has something to offer, and not here just to make up the numbers.

I'm saying nothing. :)

Nah, good bit of business. He's got a good all round game, and seemingly a decent attitude to go with it. Could be an important squad player as the season progresses.
