The Next 5 Games ...

Phil opens up with a comment about Tictacs. Sometimes, the tactics have to be to be tight, concede as little as possible and come away with a creditable draw. Lose the battle to win the war. Occasionally, you hand to play the odds. For me, Scunny away is probably one such match. We've seen teams do it to us in the past. Sides coming to Plainmoor (during the Conference years particularly), sticking 11 men behind the ball and hope not to get beaten. Had these sides come to us and tried to play football, we'd have taken them to bits and dealt them a dangerous blow in terms of goal difference, morale and confidence.
A hard grafted point against Scunny will do us good in all these areas. A 4-0 spanking for the sake of 'trying to win the game' will set us back and undo everything we gained on Tuesday.

Matt.

Your mate disagrees with you :)

Great atmosphere to play in last night. Gutted not to get the 3 points! Hopefully take it on to Saturday's game and get 3 points!

If the performance is there, if the manager is doing his best to win games, if the players are doing their best to win games then the results will come. If after all of that the results don't come then something needs to change.
I really dislike all this negative crap of saying we can't beat this team, we need to look for a draw here. If we aren't trying to win every game then we should pack up and go home now.

Top post, why cos I agree and I'm always right! and therin lies what's required.

Had we had won our first game in league one against Bristol City then we might still be in league one (doubt it but you never know) my point being every point is vital, once you have them they are rarely taken away!

Fully recovered from pneumonia, but now I suffer from consumption (gross over consumption of alcohol enticements and good ol' Anglo Saxon Yorkshire roast dinners, balanced against zero intake of tobacco related products.

The sequence of lose,lose,lose,draw,lose,lose,lose,lose. . . . . . .

. . . . . . .to save his job, has to change over the next 5 games to . . . . .

. . . . . . . win,win,win,win,win.

. . . . . . . oh all right then, I'll settle for a draw somewhere in that sequence of wins.

Since Bury, which were the first points for a while, Knill has acquired 1 point out of 9 plus a lame Cup exit. The fact we played Plymouth last night disguises the fact we were playing against a very poor team and could only muster a point. Those of us who were there will know we actually looked quite decent last night but a projected 6 points out of 15 is not enough, regardless of who the opposition is. We need at least 8 points out of those games to give us a springboard, probably more. If we are to stay up we need to be beating anyone in front of us and at present other than Northampton, everyone is above us, so we cannot use the fact that a team is higher placed than us to excuse even more defeats. We shouldn't have lost to the lesser teams if we are left having to beat the better ones to have a chance of staying up.

We ALWAYS lose at Scunny. Shocking record there, whether we were top of the league by 10points or bottom by 10 points I'd expect a beating there.
