Sorry for the lateness of my reply. I'm currently living in New York and have been playing the Predictor all season since the club first announced it before the start of the season. Easy to play and pay for extra credits. I have even received my winnings within the week, sometimes into my bank sometimes into my Paypal. No problem with being in the US.

The great thing about it is that I find it fun and I'm doing my bit for the club away from home!

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present The Land Of The Free (unless it's a freedom the government would rather you didn't have) and The Home Of The Brave (so long as they outnumber and outgun the enemy 100/1, and even that's no guarantee).

Matt.

happytorq, we have a few fans already playing the Predictor and Sweep Stake games from the USA so I don't see it as an issue (TorquayCity is from America, I hope you don't mind me saying that?)

We use paypal (which excepts credit and debt cards) to except your donation if you want to buy extra credits or an entry into the Sweep Stake. We pay winners anyway they want (Paypal, Bank, Western Union etc and we cover any cost in the transfer also)

How does this work for people in the USA - will the nasty federal government let me play?

Sorry DJGull for the late reply,

This seems like an unusual issue that you are having. I have looked through your data and you shouldn't be having these problems. I have sent you an email so that I can resolved it all for you.

My apologies,

Christian

So i've signed up and attempted to place some predictions. Once picked and I hit the 'Submit' button, a green tab pops up telling me 'Sorry you have failed to predict this week'. And now despite trying to play several times it has deducted 25credits for not playing...
What am I doing wrong?

TorquayCityTown (TorquayCity),

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the predictor game. To answer some of your questions.

you show the top 10 overall, is there anywhere you show the full table? We started off showing only the top 3 in the Predictor League but changed this to the top 10. We are quite happy with the only the top 10 showing at the moment as we are relatively small. In the Torquay Mini league (which you are obviously in as you've donated) shows every Torquay Fan that's donated. You can also build your own mini league. We feel this is enough at the moment.

how many people are currently playing? As this is our 1st season we are still very very small, up until last week we only had 100 fans signed up to Square Pass. We are now on around 150 fans. Now that football clubs are now starting to sign up this will hopefully grow. We have 3 years of funds for prize money (£45k) in the bank but by that time we need to be breaking even. So we need with rough calculations to have around 2,000 fans be at the break even point.

So far we have raised £330 for Torquay which is a very small amount but we hope with a few more than 11 fans playing and donating we hopefully can raise a few grand a year for the club.

Christian (Square Pass) you show the top 10 overall, is there anywhere you show the full table, and how many people are currently playing?

I have to say I've played the Predictor since the start of the season and have purchased extra credits now over 10 times (at £2.50 ago) so have donated a little bit to the club. As I live in Newcastle this is a great way to donate a little bit to the club and have some fun predicting the results, I'm actually a little addicted to the game, it's been very well thought through.

I'm TorquayCity on Square Pass so apologies to TorquayCity on here! I've won the Game week prize of £200 5 times this season so I'm quids in alright ^.^
There is only around 11 of us that are in the Torquay mini league (you have to donate to the club to enter) and it would be great to see more of us competing and donating to the club after all it's less than a pint to get another 1000 credits.

Dear the Yellow Army,

I just thought I write a post to you explaining our funding raising site Square Pass. We currently have raised over £300 for the club by Torquay United fans playing our online Fantasy Football games. http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... 56965.aspx

We have two games the Predictor & Sweepstake.

The Predictor

This is a very simple odds based game where you predict the results of games to win virtual credits. You start with 250 free virtual credits but can donate to Torquay United by buying an extra 1,000 credits for £2.50. You can only buy extra credits when your balance falls below 25 and only once per week. When you buy extra credits you automatically enter the Torquay United Mini League.

You only have to make a minimum of 1 prediction per week (Minimum of 25 credits) but there is no limit to the amount of prediction you can make or the amount of credits you place on your prediction. If you have virtual credits you can have a prediction basically.

Below is an example: If you think that Torquay United will beat Chesterfield then just place a minimum of 25 credits in the box (highlighted by the red circle).
Image

We have over £15,000 in prize money for this game. Each week there is £200 on offer for the fan who wins the most virtual credits. And £7,000 in overall prizes to be split between the top 3 (£5,000 for the winner, £1,500 for second and £500 for third placed).

I know that we are already half way through the season but the game is extremely competitive, with the leader only having 15,000 virtual credits after 26 game weeks. So there is still a real chance to winning some cash.

We will be running a World Cup Predictor in the summer which will work in the same way as the normal Predictor. So get practising now before that starts.

Please have a look at http://www.squarepass.org/predictor.html as it's fairly self explanatory.

Sweepstake

This is very simple game where you pick 5 clubs at the start of the season from a set budget and you collect 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and bonus points for cup wins. As the name suggests it costs £5 per entry of which £2 goes to Torquay United and £3 goes into the prize pot to be split between the top 3 and the Saturday Lucky 15 winner who receive £50 if their 5 clubs win all their League games on a Saturday. As this is a pick and leave it game I wont go into any more details and there is no chance you can now catch the leaders.... but have a look at http://www.squarepass.org/sweepstake/

Anyway I hope you all signup and have some fun playing the predictor and hopefully we can raise some more funds for the club.

If you have any questions at all about Square Pass and our fund raising games I will be happy to answer them for you.

Cheers,

Christian
