Given the choice would you want them next season?

Brucie, Apoligies, reading back over what I wrote, I hadn't clearly put across what I was trying to say. Ajala is a good player, I never said otherwise. But he has 10 Min spells of running around chasing everything, but inbetween those spells he can ball watch, lack effort, get into wrong possitions etc. I understand he's young and learning and I do hope he has a great career. I wouldn't be upset to see him stay longer, just hope he blossoms during.

But prize bell end? No need to get personal! :-D

They've already dispatched Andy to York, BarnsleyGull is going to Farsley Celtic and Brucie's been snapped up.on a free by Bideford. I think that's a great start ;-)

I guess we have a DVD and are able to use Prostat for every game played. Given these tools and the knowledge gained in training day in day out, after nearly a season CH and LH should have a pretty good idea of the calibre of player we have in each position.

Temper this with his budget, the players age and fitness they should already know who is for the chop. If they still have any doubts take a look at this forum!

I would say yes too all bar Rice, Tonge, Harding, Yeoman & Benyon. Get the boardroom sorted and let this group start pre-season together as a team and show us what they can do. After a full pre-season and season of Conference football with us they can either move onwards and upwards or look for an alternative career.
It's all well and good saying "yes" to all bar those five, but some of the others (those on the transfer list mainly) will be on a decent wedge of cash. A clear out of all those not contracted, save for a few and then replace the others with cheap players that want to establish themselves (similar to those that Greavsie brought in at the start of this season that have done ok), and have the same focus that CH does - I really do think that next season will be a totally different ball game, and will show CH to be the good manager that some of us think he could be.

Of course, it could all go tits up, like this season has. If it does, the manager will clearly have to go - but I really don't think it will come to that.

If you think that Ajala runs for only ten minutes a game - you are indeed a prize bell end.

royalgull wrote:Martin Rice - I think regardless Ricey will probably leave this summer.
Dale Tonge - Release. One of our worst players ever and a high earner
Tom Cruise - Release. Not good enough
Aaron Downes - Release - terrible terrible player whose mistakes get forgotten as he scores 5 a season.
Krystian Pearce - Release. Our best defender but doesn't want to be here anymore.
Ben Harding - Release - See Tonge
Louis Briscoe - Keep. Under contract needs a good pre season
Luke Young - Keep. Our best player
Ryan Bowman - Keep. Our 2nd best player.
Toby Ajala - Keep. Something about him had a reasonable first season.
Courtney Cameron - Non fussed either way, has talent but we don't see it enough, probably release.
Jordan Chapell - Similar to Cameron but I think he'll go regardless.
Ashley Yeoman - Release. been here yonks never established himself.
Courtney Richards - Keep. Think there's a player there needed to come out of the side but we have no other options.
Elliot Benyon - Release. Hasn't worked, not good enough anymore.
Angus MacDonald - Keep. Had a good season need to find him an experienced partner for next year.
Duane Ofori Acheompong - I'd probably give Duane another year think he's done ok in the main.
Levi Ives - Would want to keep but a bit like Pearce and possibly Luke Young it will be out of our hands.
James McQuilkin Him, Reid and Dawson have 13 games to earn deals, too early to say right now although i like that McQuilkin is versatile, could be a useful squad player for a team on a budget.
Aaron Dawson - right back position is there for someone.
Jamie Reid - With Cameron and probably Chapell going there's a chance for Reid to earn a deal.
Oliver Guegen - Again we're going to have defensive vacancies so if he has a good 13 games then maybe worth a longer deal.

Pretty much how I see it, then Hargreaves can show a few armchair managers the error of their ways with a squad of his own signings, even if they happen to be bargain basement signings ;-)

Chris Hargreaves - I'm fairly neutral. I desperately want to work for him but getting less confident.

Martin Rice - No

Tom Cruise - he was doing much better but probably not convinced enough to persevere with.
Aaron Downes - possibly if much reduced salary
Dale Tonge - No
Levi Ives - No. I've seen nothing to suggest that he is a future superstar.
Krystian Pearce - No
Angus MacDonald - Yes

Courtney Richards - Yes
Courtney Cameron - No. No end product
Jordan Chapell - No - I expected better at this level but not really been good enough
Ben Harding - no
Sam Chaney - probably will go the same way as Sullivan, Hutchings, Thompson
Mickey Parcell - see above
Luke Young - Yes
Toby Ajala - Yes
James McQuilkin - No

Ashley Yeoman - No - we cannot keep giving him contracts
Elliot Benyon - No - let this nightmare end
Louis Briscoe - Yes
Ryan Bowman - Yes
Duane Ofori-Acheampong - Yes

Olivier Gueguen - Yes
Aaron Dawson - possibly
Jamie Reid - would nice to have a local lad and Torquay fan in the team

Thanks to Ethan for his template

Chris Hargreaves - Yes he cant definitely spot a player. next season will be his squad

Martin Rice - Fairly certain he will leave but keep as no.2

Tom Cruise - versitile player but not first team quality depends on budget and who is willing to come to torquay
Aaron Downes - Yes but on reduced waged
Dale Tonge - No way
Levi Ives - Yes if he signs
Krystian Pearce - no.high wage and doesnt look interested
Angus MacDonald - Yes one of the best players so far and totally committed

Courtney Richards - Yes he is a good player look how he performed earlier in the season. CH ruined his confidence at alfreton
Courtney Cameron - No. he just doesnt even bother any more
Jordan Chapell - yes when he was player a few weeks ago, he was good weakness in crossing
Ben Harding - only if he was on very low wage as a defensive midfield player with no injury
Sam Chaney - Yes looked okay and plenty if potential
Mickey Parcell - Yes. same as chaney
Luke Young - Yes. hes local and not much more to say player of the season even if he has gone off the boil.
Toby Ajala - Yes. obviously how can anyone say he is lazy or lack of effort. he tries harder than anyone. needs to work on long range shooting as when he wins the ball he tries to walk it in.
James McQuilkin - Yes. hes a great squad player like james milner can be played anywhere.

Ashley Yeoman - No time for both parties to move on.
Elliot Benyon - No. not the player he used to be and probably too high wage.
Louis Briscoe - Yes. strong but needs to lose weight and probaly the best finisher power like podolski. play as a stiker not as a winger
Ryan Bowman - Yes. best stiker that we own since howe.
Duane Ofori-Acheampong - yes he needs to be stronger and more willing to header but him and richards seem very comitted to the club

Olivier Gueguen - Yes. he looks good
Aaron Dawson - havent seen him yet but tonge is leaving so prove yourself
Jamie Reid - havent seen him and exeter probably will keep him

Chris Hargreaves I am still undecided over, but he has another year under contract and should/almost certainly will get a chance to see that out. It's a massive year for him if he wants to extend his career as a manager. Not many people go upwards after leaving Torquay without being targeted.

Luke Young, Ryan Bowman, Louis Briscoe and Courtney Richards are under contract, so will all be kept. They are amongst our better players too, and in a better side would probably offer more consistency.

MacDonald and Ajala I would offer a longer deal to now. They are consistently our better players and both young enough to develop further too.

After that, it really depends on wages. I would be happy to keep Martin Rice as a number two, but we simply have to replace Seabright in the summer with a bona fide number one goalkeeper. This should be our number one priority as we cannot afford a repeat of the last disastrous 18 months.

Downes, Pearce, Chapell and Cameron are all very good players on their day, but were all signed during our league days, so would probably need a pay cut to fit within our new budget.

One of Yeoman or Ofori-Acheampong might be worth keeping as a fourth choice striker, whichever fits best with the other targets in mind. The non-contractors are too early to say at the moment.

With the rest, we really need a clear out. I cannot see many staying, either because they want to keep their current wage or are not good enough. Hopefully a clear out will help to stop the slide we've been on for three years now and give the manager room to bring in new blood in the Bowman/Young mould rather than trialists and non-contractors.

The only three players I really want to stay are Young, Ajala and Downes (on a reduced wage). Others I'd be satisfied to see here next season are MacDonald, Richards, Ives and Bowman. Undecided on Cameron and Chapell. The rest can all go (not counting recent newbies).
