So this weekend sees the Conf North/South playoffs to decide who we will line up against next year.
In the South we have Boreham Wood vs Whitehawk. From what I can see Whitehawk are the latest team to be bankrolled through the divisions - I think they've been promoted 4 times in the last 5 years or something? Their ground looks a bit of a state - hastily constructed with leftovers from the Withdean, cobbled together around a sloping pitch. No real fan base either. Boreham Wood have a tidy little setup and seem to be quite well established - although I remember a distinctly unsavoury element of their support rocking up when we trounced them in the FA Cup.
In the north, we have Chorley which would be a real trek for our lads. You just know we will be playing away there midweek before Xmas. But again it's a club with history and what looks like an atmospheric old-style ground. Guiseley have been on the cusp of the conference for a few years. Have a decent squad of players - lots of names from Huddersfield and Bradford sides we've faced over the years.
So who would you prefer to we end up having to play (none of them is not an answer!)
For me, Boreham Wood and Chorley - the closes we are going to get to good, solid teams with tradition in the league.
