Any rumours on the name of our trialists?

By the way, Cambgull is building Plainmoor in Minecraft and would appreciate some help. Can anybody take loads of pictures of various corners of the stadium for him? Details on the Popside forum here: http://forum.torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8173

I feel so positive about the coming season, not about a play off push or anything, just the fact that we seem to have our house in order. it's really refreshing that our club is now a lot more honest about our situation and expectations. finally looking forward to seeing us back in action!

Doesn't today represent a bit of a momentous day? Being July 1st, today would have been the day deadwood such as Tonge, Benyon stopped getting paid by TUFC.

Things are looking up already!

The New Season

Wow!! I suppose it was always on the cards, but I have to admit the events of the past few days came as something of a surprise, not to mention shock. But the it's the kind of shock a sudden whirlwind brings, which is also a breath of fresh air. Talk about a new broom sweeping clean!

And we still await the appointment of a new manager, promised by the end of the week, as well as the signings of enough new players to form an effective squad for the campaign ahead. And the first pre-season friendly is exactly four weeks away..!!

What should be the priorities for the new regime? I believe first should be instilling the right ethos and attitude into the squad, and Dean Edwards has said all the right words so far in this regard: no namby-pambyism. We want no prima donnas, no spoiled little brats, no homesick kids. We want players with ambition who are willing to die (metaphorically speaking) for the cause and who are willing to work and to put in the required hard graft. Alongside that, it is essential that players should be fully fit, an element that was often noticeably absent last season.

And I'd really like to see a return to the old days I used to see at Plainmoor: enthusiastic crowds fully supporting the team, passion and desire to win among players and supporters alike. If current events are not sparking such enthusiasm among the local population, then nothing will. So come on folks, get along to Plainmoor, and bring a friend or neighbour. It's the start of a new season, and the beginning of a new era..

Well, the club now has new owners and, whilst we still await the fixture list for the new season, the pre-season friendlies are confirmed on the O.S. http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... EIWiPX2.99

These are:
Wed 15 July, 7.30pm: Tiverton (away)
Wed 22 July, 7.30pm: Yeovil (home)
Sat 25 July , 3.00pm: Truro City (away)
Tue 28 July, 7.45pm: Plymouth Argyle (home)
Fri 31July, 7.30pm: Exeter City (home)

This could be the time our club's fortunes begin to change for the better. All supporters should now seriously get behind CH and the team, to give them (and us) a chance to progress during the season.

well seen as he's on the course with some real legends I was hoping he'd learn how to coach and not how to guild the lily anymore. And then wake to the fact hodges is as rubbish as he was before he went and learnt how to coach. But that's just my opinion, if I wanted a new commercial/sales/media man Hargreaves would be top of my list.

Be nice to see if hargreaves has learnt anything on his course, hopefully come back and sack hodges.
Hope you don't mind me asking, but, why just Hodges?
