I would give that conversion precisely zero credence.

Matt.

Seems we may have gone from 2 Fishers to none at all.

the days of our club playing in the football league look over at least for a very long time. very sad times!
Sadly, that's how it needs to be I think. The only aim at the moment should be to get the finances under control and if that means mutually terminating some of Cox's signings and replacing with SDL players until the end of the season then so be it. If the board cannot get the finances under control then it doesn't matter what league we are in next season as I suspect we won't be in existence. I can only see two scenario's this season - 'own the problem', firesale and get the finances under control or ignore the problem and try and stay in this league. The latter, for me, spells the end of the club. The days of the football league are a long way off under any scenario people can think of (short of a lottery winner). This season has been several years in the making but various boards have not confronted it. We might not clear the debts for ages but we need to get them to a sustainable level.

I think the difference with the Webb and (partly) the Mike B era, is that signing of 'substandard' players was a choice. Today it is a necessity.

Sometimes you need to raze the building to the ground to rebuild rather than trying to tart up an existing substandard building.

If we get relegated (as is sadly very likely), the worst case scenario is starting next season in CS against some very well run and organised clubs, with a team that has been put together in the summer and barely know each other. Better to start that preparation now.

Hurst and now Fisher. We're certainly do a good job of retaining our goalscorers.

I think as many players leaving as possible is a good thing (bar the 8 or so who are actually reasonable) as it gives us more room to make signings. Some names mentioned recently have been encouraging and even 2-3 like that would be better than 8-10 of the fringe players.

We only need 14 outfield players to fill the bench, and 10 to start. We have a few good players here, but desperately need more quality in the first XI.

That said, could it not wait a week? We have 3 games coming up before anyone new can register...

I think I'll start wearing my team shirt inside out, so it won't be recognised. :(

I thought he was hooked on this club and can't believe he's been angling to leave for some time.

Enough!

Personal reasons? Hopefully nothing sad or awful, but maybe:

1 I'M the only Fisher in the village

2 I'm off to Barrow for 4 x the wages

3 I can't get over being subbed for part-time CB

4 ..............?

Thanks for your contribution this season, Alex. Good luck.

Shame. At Chesham he chased down every ball and I was encouraged by his start of the season.

All the best Fish!!
Not that I don't believe you but I can't see any confirmation of this on his twitter/WMN/HE (there's no point looking at the club site) - where did you get this from?

Good luck to him, I liked him and thought under Paul Cox he would've readily replaced Bowman, hopefully his spell with us doesn't affect his future career.

See it now on the beeb:

Don't forget Webb signed players from the lower leagues, we had a brace of Fowlers then.
