I know this ground very well,been on it more than a few times before the club took it on ,and after it became TUFC training ground,its not the weather,this ground has very good drainage,it also has drainage channels running alon each split between fields yes it does get soggy at the bottom.

For me it has become more about the slope,and it does beg the question who accually wanted us to move there in the first place?

As we all know it is vitaly important for a professional football league club to have good training factilities,long gone are the days when division four footballer's had a fry up,pint,and did a bit of running,i have been on training grounds of other clubs,and it kills me to say this there is no comparison between the cat and fiddle to what we have,and i have also been on Bristol City's ,which is as flat as a dab,and could almost be a living room carpet,with it's astro turf walk ways,and signs telling you to stick to the walk ways or be shot

I do wonder whether it has become a case of the club having to divert more funds towards the training ground than they though,or wished,however if not seale hayne where else?

I well remember the time of the TUFC "hill run" (coastal path route).

As a youngster I was spared that ordeal. We did however run from Plainmoor down to Oddicombe Beach and do sprints along the prom. Then it was over to Babbacombe beach and the lung busting run (aye, run) up that fecking hill and back to Plainmoor.

They were the days. These days, just walking up that hill is painful. Well, it is when carrying a gallon of ale in yer guts. :Oops:

I guess the PCC facilities are by mutual consent in conjunction with the Development squad thing they have there. A total guess, but based on sound reasoning.

It is disappointing and like you say Dave a drain on our cash when we are effectively paying for something we are not using and may even have to be paying out again to use the TCC and PCC facilities - hopefully they don't charge us?

Like you say the slope has always been there we knew about that and perhaps could have acted earlier but unfortunately the combination of terrible weather conditions this winter and the team training on it have had a major impact and I heard it recently described as a mudbath! That said, I am surprised that all the pitches are affected - I thought there were at least two, maybe even three, out there?

At least the club are now putting a plan in place for the summer and hopefully it will be ready for next season. It really is a fantastic location and I am sure that eventually it will be a fantastic facility - provided that the club can dig up sufficient funds to make it as good as it possibly can be .... argh, if only we could have beaten Crawley, eh!

not sure if you will get any intrest in this be honest,i brought this up a couple of weeks ago no body seemed that bothered,which i could not understand at the time,we al agree were by no means awell off club yet we seem to be dripping cash on a training ground we are notg etting the best use out of.

I notice in the Herald today mention that we're not currently using our new all-singing, all-dancing training ground? It seems the pitches aren't good enough, and there is a slope. I thought we were aware of that when we bought it? Don't think i understand the rationale behind the move at all. We can't use the training pitch because 'we're geared up to play passing football now'. But by using Plainmoor to train on, we won't have a pitch on a Saturday that will enable us to pass 5 yards without taking a bobble? Sounds as though we're going to need to spend another bundle of cash in the summer on a training ground we've just bought for a bundle of cash?
