Well Ross Hannah did not score today as Matlock lost 1-0 to Kendal Town!!

I saw a certain person in The Crimea prior to the game and he gave me a nodding smile. At that point it occurred to me that the news would be in the HE not long after and that's how it panned out.

Fair play to the Matlock fans, obviously they don't want to lose Hannah at such an important time - I don't follow the leagues that far down but I have seen their 2nd, and with a real crack at getting into the Blue Square North, which I presume would be an excellent achievement for such a club.

However, I do think that their manager has been a bit premature in his moaning about us. Buckle has said he has been 'tracking' Hannah. Not that we've signed him, nothing of the sort. Also, the fact that he thinks that because fans are talking about it means it's definately happened. Dave has said that he was in a rush and so the original post may have been a bit misleading.

I was told we've signed Messi from Barcelona. Are we going to get a mention in their local paper now? No, of course not.

I do hope that we have done enough to lure Ross down here, but if not, then fair enough. I'll be very surprised to see him still at Matlock come August, though.

What is said in that peice is no different to the other one that came out yesterday,as i said in a previuos reply,it is just intrest stiring from Matlock,they have aprized asset they want the best price,any one who is looking at this thinking that Matlock are the poor little club been treated sooo badly by the much bigger Tufc i am afraid cant see the woods from the tree's in my opinion.

It is a shame this signing did not come off this week,and all that has happened by the new's being leaked on a fans forum has done ,is given Matlock the chance to keep there boy at the front of the shop window,have Matlock pulled a few stunts here? maybe .

And what anybody needs to do before reading this site,is read what it say's at the bottom of the home page.

We're an independent fans forum, run by fans for fans. What is discussed on here is NOT official and shouldn't be taken as such. For those like yourself that don't want to see gossip, rumour or transfer speculation I can assure you there are many times more people who do.

If you want to sit there looking at an official site waiting for news to be confirmed then that's your prerogative but don't buy into the notion that what gets discussed on here is damaging to "The Club" because it isn't. What IS damaging to the club is false assumptions made like those made public by Mark Atkins. No mention was made by me or anyone else that our Club or any of their representatives had passed me the information regarding Hannah. Whatever gets written on this forum is meant only for the readers of this site, if others take it upon themselves to publish any of it elsewhere then they do so at their own responsibility and not that of this site.

Anyone else see this as a prime opportunity to make an example of MTFC? Head to their board, announce false rumour, see what of it gets reported. Might swing things back in our advantage? The reason they have made such a song and dance about a rumour posted on the interweb is because the rumour came uncomfortably close to the truth and they have immediately blamed TUFC out of self defence. Perhaps if it were to be made known that the 'Torquay' source was in fact someone from inside MTFC, we could swing the pressure back on them?

Don't condone trolling obviously, but as a plan, it might be effective.

There wouldn't be a situation at all if it wasn't put on the Matlock forum when there had been nothing said by the club. But Fonda is right, Matlock are bending the truth to suit themselves.

The reason this signing hasn't happened is because we haven't met their valuation, no other reason. Had we done, Matlock would have no problem with the news having been broken. They are using the situation to further 'advertise' their asset.

Oh dear. Torquayfans.com ruining a signing with premature announcement. Can't say you weren't warned.

Absolutely right Richinns. Unfortunately though that is exactly what Matlock have done. It is quite clearly stated that this is an unofficial site, the club have no control over what is said here so cannot take the blame. Since the posts on the Matlock forum contain information taken from this site, then it should not be used against the club. It would've been so easy for these sites to check out if Matlock's accusations were entirely true before publishing them, as it is, they've published a half truth.
