Ahhh yup - so this was the case. I assumed he must have refused to play. Dave - is it essentially a case of Marsh and his agent knowing we couldn't afford financially to keep a player in the reserves who refuses to play and causes problems for the manager? Most clubs would just make him train with the kids and show him that he's under contract - but we aren't in a position to do that.
In which case - **** you Tyrone Marsh and fair play to the board for finding a fee.
Some really good posts today from many supporters, both sides of the arguement make sense and I can see everyones point of view.
I still feel its not too late for us as we still have to play teams around us in the league. I truly think the best chance we have is to change the manager rather than a high turnover in playing personel. However that ship sailed when we made the poor choice of manager in the first place and its been made patently obvious for a while now that whoever made the ludicrous decision to appoint him is going to stubbornly resist removing him and he can just carry on regardless.
All the players that have left may not be the managers fault however - some may have left because of him and they didnt want to play for him, likewise he didnt want them for whatever reason, they didnt fancy it here, they were homesick, they had personal problems etc. Whatever the reason, I couldnt care less, if they dont want to be here they can bugger off, if they dont want to be a part of TUFC then we dont want them.
There is not one player in the squad I would have or will lose any sleep over if they left, I am actually quite pleased with some that have gone, can you really say any of them are irreplaceable at this level. None of them have set the world alight that much have they. Has the likes of Heslop or Briscoe leaving weakened us, dont think so! The Marsh thing may be a blow but he hasnt been consistant, he hasnt played as much as he should have and all we need is a sulky player downing tools isnt it.
One thing aside, if Nicholson is booting players out who so called undermine him, are diffucult or he cant manage them, then that is a bit of a joke because yes that is part of a managers job, nobody said it was easy and it shouldnt be. Bit of a joke though if thats the case when you think back to a lot of sfuff that was written about his behaviour when Nicholson acted like a sulky kid and tried to undermine Alan Knill when Knill apparently didnt rate him so dropped him from left back and supposedly didnt want Nicholson or his overrated mate Lee (cant pass) Mansell around.
