Torquay United Fans Ltd
To all Torquay United Football Club fans and organisations,
We posted what we believe to be an accurate account of what was happening at Torquay United back in December 2015. Torquay United Fans Ltd can now update you with the following:
1. We stand by our original statement made in December 2015.
2. We have had several meetings with Torquay United Football Club (TUFC) and we can confirm that during meetings with TUFC, Peter Masters has had a significant presence whereas Steve Breed was not present. Although we understand that Pete Masters may have had an interest at the time in the new owners due to the ground share, our meeting was certainly led by Pete Masters and NOT Dave Phillips as expected given that he is the chairman of TUFC.
3. Recently, it was announced that Truro will no longer be ground sharing with TUFC; although we understand that this may have an impact on TUFC finances, we here at Torquay United Fans Ltd like to remain positive and feel that the pitch will now have time to recover in between the training/fixtures of only one team, TUFC, instead of two as planned. We do question whether Truro City will need to be reimbursed due to the ground share no longer going ahead.
4. It has been suggested that the consortium will, apparently, pay each of the Directors for their shares and ALL monies paid in.
5. Although there have been many parties interested in TUFC since the current board lodged their interest; we do hope that the current interested consortium, who have exclusivity, do intend to build upon the foundations that the existing board have put in place. However, we do feel that it is necessary for Torquay United Fans Ltd to increase the fund raising in case this deal, like others, does not go ahead.
Proposal:
1. That Torquay United Fans Ltd continue to raise funds as we have been doing since the incorporation of the company. We can confirm that they are going quite well.
2. The company is now going to sell shares in order to raise further capital for a future takeover of Torquay United. These shares will be sold directly to fans and organisations. The shareholders can vote on two members to have a seat in the boardroom, so that the fans can have their say as it should be.
3. We believe that the fans must have a say in how TUFC goes forwards to not only survive but to progress and succeed. Torquay United Fans Ltd are also fans and have TUFC and its future at heart.
For all fans who wish to buy shares or donate money for the sole basis of the Torquay Fans Ltd take over please use the email address

Once we have been contacted via email by interested parties, we will send everyone an email with the necessary details. Please do not put any bank details on emails, but do provide a contact telephone number or preferred email address. Furthermore, we respectfully request that you inform friends, family and any other forums or organisations so that no fan is missed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all fans who are already showing support and we hope that funds from fans will continue to come in over the coming months.
4. In answer to a few fans who have commented that Steve Breed is leaving the club, although there are rumours, we cannot confirm that he is leaving. We feel that he has TUFC at heart and has a vast amount of TUFC knowledge, as such he is a great asset to any future investor in TUFC.
In answer to their second question as to whether or not Mr Masters is selling Truro; we have no knowledge of this and as such, we cannot comment. We can only confirm that Mr Masters has been in attendance at some board meetings whereas the Chief Executive of TUFC has been excluded. Given that the ground-share is no longer happening, there is no need for Pete Masters to have any involvement with Torquay United.
If the takeover bid currently being offered by an unknown consortium fails, we will have very little time to save the club. We urge you all to respond to this as a matter of urgency so that we can release account details and launch the biggest fund raising campaign to save the club so that the Yellow Army will march on.
Yours sincerely
Colin
