There's probably a starting XI from the Ling era which would win this unchanged.

Youngy doesn't get near that O'Kane, Mansell, Lathrope three because he doesn't do the work of Damo, have the quality of Eunan or the leadership of Manse.

Maybe trade Gus for Mark Ellis and you've got it.

I don't think we've ever seen him at his absolute best because he's never had that good of a team around him. The midfield three we had in the first couple of seasons in this decade were something special. Lathrope (before all the injuries), Mansell, O'Kane. Of course it helped that back then the rest of the squad was excellent as well.
