The fee is far from irrelevant, last season that covered 2 players wages for a year :)

Not sure I would agree with that, as we're losing our main centre forward. We'll have to replace Blissett, and it's not like we were flushed with cash six months ago to throw money at him when we signed him up. His wages will surely just go straight to his replacement.

£15k isn't a life changing amount of money, but if it's the manager's decision to accept it and not forced upon him then fair enough. Whilst four goals has been disappointing this season, he has got 7 assists as well and is a reliable hold up striker. Without his 8 goals in 16 starts last season we wouldn't have pulled off the great escape, and at his best that kind of strike rate is as good as you'll get in this division.

The annoying bit is why we didn't play him yesterday. If he's not had a medical and the deal won't be complete until later this week then there was no rush. It's not as if we're selling him for a bomb and you don't want to risk it. His hold up play when we were 5-3 up and desperate to clear our lines and relieve the constant pressure could have been the difference between one point and three, as per Boxing Day when we were under the same pressure. That also shows what he brings to the team, even when not scoring goals.

The fee's irrelevant (although, as usual, Dazza is likely to be pretty much bang on). What's key is the wages we'll be able to re-utilise.

On the Radio this morning, they said that Blissett has gone for around £15k and that 2 new signings are expected shortly. Watch this space

Well, new owners in charge and in two games they are served up seventeen goals, and our lads are now obviously on a decent run of form, with other clubs showing interest. Did anyone seriously expect that before the festive season? Now, there may still be some cynics and doubters, but it's quite possible that the new regime will become as addicted to the Gulls as the rest of us.

Players come and go, the good, the bad, and the ugly, but we know that our manager, with innate ability and growing experience, is capable of bringing in new signings able to do a job for us. If G.I. honour their commitments and support him and the club as they did a year ago, we could easily finish the season on a high note, with deserved increased attendances, and the club may even show signs of beginning to make a profit.

That would bode well for the future. With owners, supporters, and playing staff all singing the same song, what vistas might open up before us, looking forward beyond the end of this season with a new-found optimism, and TUST could even go back into hibernation for a while.. :~D

You seem to be saying that because we're not going to win those games, then we shouldn't bother trying to win any of them; we should all - players, manager, and supporters - just pack up and go home?

Why not set out to win those games, or as many of them as possible? That's what they're there for. Look on the bright side. By the way, there are 21 games left to play, not 18.

Leicester had the following benefits that we don't have:

Money
All their main rivals falling over themselves to underachieve
An incredibly effectively well honed tactical system, designed perfectly for the players they possess and against the major teams they played.
Momentum
Dilly-Ding, Dilly-Dong

Yet at no point in their season did they win 16 out of 17 games at any point in the season. It's delusional to think that any team could do that, short of an utterly dominant Real Madrid/Barcelona team or possssibly current Chelsea. For reference the most matches won in a row in the EPL is 14 and that has happened once...ever...., not sure what the Football League record is.

Point taken. But what are the odds of the Gulls achieving it? 5000-1? Did anyone think that Leicester would win the Premiership title last season? :)
