Not wishing to offend, but said to a mate when Richards got injured, the team stands a chance at staying up now, was there any coincidence, results and performances improved at the same time. Even at our level of football you need so much more than a 100% effort player, wouldn't of complained if some one had given a £1 for every time Richards misplaced a 2 yard pass, let alone a 10 yard pass and conceded possession.

Even with our budget there are better players out there, having said all that, if he gets a good move I'd wish him well.
What you are saying is that Nicho was selecting a player that you thought should not be in the side. :-/

.....parks' players who reckon they could hack it at the pro' game but in reality couldn't trap a bag of shopping

I agree with Merse. He's a players, player - if such a phrase is still current. The smartass remarks about him on here are from the terminally misguided.

No-one could accuse Courtney Richards of ever giving less than one hundred per cent; opinions of his technical expertise are whatever they will be but as I emphasized before; it what his managers and potential managers are looking for and find in his game is what is important to him.

Not sure what that comment is meant to say 3 piglets.Maybe that he is a good barman, i dont know. Do you not feel that he has always tried his hardest for the team? ive never seen him give less than 100% surely despite any other shortcomings as a footballer that is all anyone can ask.

Richards has always been much maligned but despite that, I've always liked him and thought him to be better than many give him credit for. Utterly committed and seemed a good bloke.

I'd like him to stay but if he departs then I wish him well.

brucie wrote: 30 May 2017, 10:53 Richards has been a good servant for us and all the negative comments are unfair. If he gets a club closer to home then good luck to him. Like most of the squad he is replacable though.
Watch out. Someone on here is doing a bad impression of Brucie. Far too generous of thought (having never seen him, anyway).

He has a lot a qualities which are overlooked because his passing is not the best at times
and he does give the ball away too much, but he has been
virtually the first name on the team sheet for 3 years under Nicholson and Hargreaves so he must have
something unless the fans think they are better judges of a player than those two - I don't think so

I agree with Brucie on this. He has always seemed to wear the shirt with pride and given 100%. So I for one wish him good luck and thanks if he moves into the football league.

Without wishing to be rude to Courtney Richards, i feel that we didn't miss him during the second great escape. When i have seen him play, he tends to look part of the problem, rather than part of the solution, and i would question the need for him to remain club captain. Nicho is overall an excellent manager, but leaving Richards as club captain is, in my opinion, a possible error of judgement. There were other heros last season. McGinty is more worthy club captain ... played every match, totally commited, immediately resigned and didnt get injured. Ex Man Unt too ...
