I was there. I remember Gareth Howells scoring the winning penalty? I also remeber that the Torquay special train that was put on went back to Torquay before the game ended with either nobody or very few on the train.

Yep remember this well as a rather good looking 22 year old at the time  ,remember being sick with nerves during extra time to the point and kept going out into the concourse and hiding

Managed to compose myself for the penalty shoot out,and remember turning to my mate and saying look at Bamber's face he is bricking it,he will miss..how right is was

I was there aged 12 with my Dad, Sister and her best friend, it's like a dream now! Abiding memories are singing Que Sera Sera on the way up as well as songs I made up, how colourful Wembley was, having no faith in any of our penalty takers, celebrating with strangers and listening to Supertramp and Toto on the way home to Wiltshire. The occasion is in my top five greatest experiences along with marriage, honeymoon, birth of my daughter and Sherpa Van Trophy victory over Wolves at Molineux. Winning at Old Trafford would probably relegate the wedding out of the top five!
