With the club facing the prospect of relegation and everyone blaming either Gary Johnson or Uncle Clarke for our predicament, me included, are we looking in the wrong place for playing the blame game? Gary Johnson has for several decades proved to be a top manager at this and a higher level. Everyone fell off their chairs when Johnson was named as our new manager, including me. For whatever reason, things have been going wrong on the pitch for the last 18 months or so and the manager has to take responsibility for this. Clarke Osborne has pumped over 5 million quid into the club and Johnson has said several times that the board has fully supported him. We knew that Uncle Clarke has no interest in Torquay United football club, it's all about new stadiums and housing developments for him, from day one. George Edwards is Osborne's no 2 and in charge of the running of the football club. Edwards has been involved in football for many years. It's therefore common sense that the blame for Gary Johnson still being manager at the club is down to the reluctance of George Edwards to sack him and bring in someone new to try and save our season.
