Six points would be much better. That would mean that one of York or Maidenhead have to win one of their last two games, or Aldershot get a point.

Once they've won the thing you don't know how they're react. When we won the NLS Championship we promptly went on to lose away to Chippenham in the next game and then on the day the trophy was presented to us at Plainmoor we lost to relegated Hungerford.

Let's hope Billy Waters is 'off course'!!

No matter how many permutations are put forward by various posters the fact remains we may get a result from altrincham but I see nothing from the Wrexham game other than a full house, they will want to finish on a high, 2000 fans from up north will not be happy seeing them go down to a team widely tipped for the drop.I fervently hope we survive but reality is somewhat different, they are top for a reason and they average over 2.5 goals a game, if we think chesterfield's strikers were dangerous then wait till palmer, mullin, mcallinden and lee get going, not forgetting billy waters off course.

Sorry, the second should say win.

If we draw at Altringham we will be relegated on Saturday unless York lose to Aldershot or Maidenhead lose to Barnet.

If we draw at Altringham we can’t be relegated on Saturday.
Two mutually exclusive statements.

AltrinCham correctly !
Think we have to win both, can't see Maidenhead or York losing both games
Don't think it matters if Barnet finish 4th 5th or 6th does it ? So will they be going for it ?
4th & 5th get home play off match so it is an advantage.

Agree we have to win both and even if we do we'll still be favourites to go down.

Altrincham - Sorry - I've been spelling it wrong for ever. Only just realised now you've pointed it out!

So the new situation is (excluding very unlikely changes in goal difference):

If we lose at Altringham we will be relegated on Saturday.

If we draw at Altringham we will be relegated on Saturday unless York lose to Aldershot or Maidenhead lose to Barnet.

If we draw at Altringham we can’t be relegated on Saturday.

If we get two points from Altringham & Wrexham we will be relegated.

If we get four points from Altringham & Wrexham we will be relegated unless York or Maidenhead lose both of their games.

If we beat both Altringham & Wrexham we will be relegated unless York or Maidenhead get only two points from their final two games or Aldershot lose both of their games.

Although four points gives us a chance we really have to win both games then hope -

Aldershot - I can’t see failing to beat Altringham on the last day so we want them to win at York.

York – May well beat Aldershot (whether they drew or lost wouldn’t actually make any difference to us if we get two wins) but if they don’t we have to hope they’ll don’t win at Notts County, who are obviously a much better team but will have nothing to play for.

Maidenhead – May well lose to Barnet who need points for a home play off game. Whether they drew or lost wouldn’t actually make any difference to us if we get two wins. Then we need them to fail to win at Gateshead who have been on good form but have nothing to play for.

If we, Maidenhead & York all win on Saturday we’d go into the last game needing to beat Wrexham & hope that Aldershot lose at home to Altringham. Not a good scenario. News of Altringham’s first goal would kill the day at Plainmoor.

And if they go down a whole weekend at Trago Mills Leisure Park.

How about this...................

If we were to win on Saturday and somehow Maidenhead or York were to lose both games 4 points would be enough. Add to this if Wrexham were to lose on Saturday and Notts County draw, Wrexham would need a point from our game.

We could play out a nice draw to give them promotion and see us survive (now to stop dreaming).
