Hello all,
First,fyi I run the Southend United Ex Players Association (SUEPA) and I have been helping former Shrimper (and Gull) Jakub Sokolik with his appeal on GoFundMe to raise sufficient monies for his son Jakub Junior (age 2) to receive a second course of treatment for his leukemia
Anyway, as well as playing for Torquay (plus Plymouth and Yeovil), Jakub once played for Southend and got in contact with me to see if we might promote his fundraising for his little lad which we've been doing.
I was in touch with Jakub again today, and both he and his girlfriend Nicola would like to pass on their sincere gratitude for the support given - I know that already a number of Torquay fans have helped. The picture shown here is them in happier times back in the Spring on a visit to London.
They are overwhelmed with all of the donations so far and messages received from so many different supporters from Plymouth, Yeovil, Torquay, Southend and others.
Jakub Junior remains in hospital and is awaiting a second course of treatment for his leukemia. The appeal at the time of writing now stands at £4,850, so close to the target £6,000 needed, and if you have not yet donated but would like to do so the link you need is:
