Great start to the season - glad the Board saw sense last season and kept him on when so many were calling for his head.

Well done Paul, absolutely deserved, there was never any question that you would not pick up the award. It has been a fanatastic start to the season.

Fully deserved win for PB.

It's incredible to think that this is his first MOM award - given all the success he had during the two years we were in the BSP . The only time his achievements were recognised were after we got promoted when he got the Manager of the Year award, although he wouldn't even have won that if Nigel Clough had stayed until the end of the season to finish the job at Burton Albion.

He should also of course have got one at the end of last season (rather than Steve Cotterill at Notts County) given our superb finish, but at least he hasn't had to wait too long to finally pick one up this season. Let's hope it's the first of many!

Well done Bucks, totally deserving of the award but, like you all may be thinking, lets not have a complete loss of form now (finger crossed) :O

He (Ray) does seem to smile a lot, which is a bit scary given his Dracula nickname.

And Ray is a good bloke too, by all accounts. If that helps.

It does mean, however that at least until Saturday, I shall be saluting magpies, not passing people on the stairs and not running over any black cats in an attempt to lift the curse...

btw, our chairman looks very dapper in the photo, and I never for a moment recognised Ray Reardon - does he support the Club or just filled in as a local celeb for the photoshoot?

forevertufc wrote:well i think if you look at shrewsbury's record for august, unbeaten in the league, knocked charlton out of the league cup, then narrowly losing to stoke in round 2,also they knocked oldham out of the jpt, maybe there manager deserve's it,as there record for august is better than ours.

however still delighted with our start, and hopefully back to winning ways saturday.

oh and joe,if bucks does not win it,leave your dads bubbly alone :)
It's a League award, and therefore cup results shouldn't come it.

Therefore, give it to Buckle :)

He simple HAS TO win it...we've had a hard start(or what we thought would be) and won every game conceding 1. There is no chance he won't win it surely!?

Adam le fondre will probably get POM

westbaygull wrote:Don't really want him to win it. It's a slippery slope once that award has been made.

And Mark Ellis is up for the L2 player of the month. If they both win, we'll be doubly cursed. We'll be leaking goals and having players walking out.
i don't know what you're worried about...the demands of the curse have already been met. On saturday, the first league game after the award should have been presented. We lost, we let in 2 goals in the first half.

The curse cannot affect us now! *evil laugh*
