Interesting game, first half was a non affair

We did play it a lot more on the deck, Cooke again had 3 big CBs against him and got nothing all game

Eastbourne weren't that interested in going for it, slowing everything down and in that last 15;it was only us going for the win

We just seemed to click, get a bit more aggressive and play on the front foot

I think it consisted of Young going off, I'm not sold on him, doesn't look overly interested and is a far cry from his first appearance

Hamon made a fantastic save in the 2nd half

Thought Palmer and Craske were very good too

Crowd was vocal and helped push us on

Ref, okay in the first half but lost control in the 2nd half

Until the last 20 minutes it didn't look as if we'd score and Eastbourne seemed to be the most likely winners but we gradually improved, scored a goal that looked a bit fortunate and another as they were pushing forward right at the end - but that's the way champions win matches some time.
Not sure we'll get away with it at Worthing who at the moment look like favourites to win the league - but a couple of weeks ago Borehamwood seemed to be the ones we'd need to catch.

We regressed back to the sideways backwards game possibly becuase no one was making any runs up front. I thought with the exception of dreyer and Palmer no one did well first half.
I would imagine wotton had much to say half time becuase we seemed to be a lot brighter in the second, not sure how dreyer scored that goal but I will take it and mussa never panics when he is in on goal and so it proved. A hard won three points , I hope we have something left in the tank for tuesday.
But, we still won.....

Horrid match, poor ref, will take the 3 points.

Can’t fault the endeavour, but hoof ball was back with a vengeance for us today, only Eastbourne visibly tiring in the last 20 minutes made us look a threat late on.

It keeps us in the mix though.

Back to a back 5 looking at the line up

I'll go for a scrappy 1-0 win

I wouldn’t say losing two in a roll is a losing streak, maybe when you get to 4 or 5 it is. You can certainly say however we haven’t picked up many points the last few matches, yet its only in the last game that we have been poor.

We have our two most reliable first team defenders out injured, so of course we’re not going to be as defensively sound. People seem to continually forget the squad has only been together for this season, it will take time to get a squad of players who can all come in and do a job if needed. I would take a scrappy win or draw today to be honest, yes it’ll keep us adrift, but every team around us is going to have a patch of games where they don’t pick up points and if we are back firing we can catch up to them again.

In the last 5 games away Eastbourne have not conceded a single goal. That has to change today.

A very close battle 1-0 to the Gulls.
