Torquay United v Slough

Whilst many were moaning at the lack of tempo/ drive to get more goals yesterday, I think with a huge game on Friday we had to preserve condition. None of the lads would have wanted injuries and the game was won. So as a spectacle it limped over the line, but the bigger picture was to be fit for Friday,

truro are a physically challenging test they put endless crosses and long throws on the backline. It will be a hard game and will take a resolute energetic performance to win

Well it’s Mussas attitude I guess, too laidback, he seems to plays at his best when he’s fired up. That one pass was glorious, but that was it and he’s not doing anywhere near enough, Wotton was shouting at him to get more central.

Not sure how many are on two year contracts, so we’ll have to persevere with some of them. I found it a little strange he started Hussaini who wasn’t even in the squad last week and Mussa who is so hit and miss, but Hassani does add a bit more industry to the midfield. I had no interest in the talk about signing Tom Lapslie, but if it’s on a reduced deal, I’d take the 20 odd games a season he’d play for what he brings.

I also agree with the lack of quality in our shooting and with such slow build up the opposition has time to reorganise, meaning every pass or shot has to be inch perfect. Hopefully next season and beyond we add guile and pace to the team.

I feel Matt Jay needs to be utilised better, he is the one player with genuine quality.

Still, Wotton has worked wonders to get us almost certain of a Play Off spot and with an outside chance of winning the league. I bought my Truro ticket early, so can’t wait for the joy or agonising disappointment next Friday may bring.

Needed the win and move on! Truro will be tough but better team tends to bring the best out of us,
Win this game on Friday and this really will throw the cat amongst the pigeons!
knowing Torquay, we win the next 2 games control of our destiny for the last game and blow it in Hemel!

Concerned at our inability to score more goals against the 10 men of one of the poorest sides to come to Plainmoor this season.

I am beginning to doubt my own eyes when people praise Mussa. OK he made one superb pass of some 60 or 70 yards which lead to the 2nd goal but and it is a big but how can a Full Time Professional Footballer when shooting not get even close to the goal. Shocking. What on earth does he do in training. A good analogy is golf and football. To be good at golf you have to putt well and it takes a lot of practice,

To score goals you need to shoot on target. Mussa is the worst shot taker I have ever seen. No control whatsoever. Result 1 goal all season I think.

What is so frustrating is he has talent but no one including Torquay United can get him to use his talent. Rant over. I very rarely criticise our players but Mussa is wasting his ability. Why?

Can't say I enjoy watching us this season , it's a bit like watching England, slow patient build ups , keeping possession and lots of sideways passing looking for the final ball to unlock the opposition which rarely results in a chance or attempt at goal. I would prefer seeing us move the ball quicker and sometimes players driving forward with the ball, with supporting runners to create some panic in the opposition and have more shots !
Comfortable win though and vital 3 points, just makes last Saturdays result all the more galling and rueing an opportunity missed.
I can't imagine Mussa is going to start next week in that role
Truro will dispossess him many times . I agree I don't think that was Youngs best game at all. I thought Hasani was our best player today.

We have played much better and lost so I am happy with three points, again, a change of personnel with hasani and mussa back in midfield in the case of Mussa not sure why, if this was his audition for next years contract he fluffed it spectacularly, from casual passing to the opposition, a lack of industry, and a general lack of interest and the only person I know that can have a free shot from 20 yards and manage to put it on the roof of the swimming pool next door, after the red card the game was ours and the midfield was available to anyone who wanted to take it on, unfortuntely our final third play is the weak point, we go through the pitch with ease then we get minutes of sideways and backwards play but lack someone to unlock the final ball. Friday will be a very interesting match.

glad a made the right late prediction

a missed opportunity for some GD increase against a poor Slough team who weren't interested after the red card

Mussa - dreadful shooting

Young - how he got MoTM is beyond me, hes painfully 1 footed and sadly, selfish

Would have taken them both off long before they got hooked

Onto the Easter double header, due to the games against each other in the top 6, whoever gets 2 wins is likely the league winner, hopefully we raise our game for this clash vs Truro

What would I like to see today?

First I think Matt Jay should play in a central position as he is a match winner.

Second WJD has to start. He has talent real ability and desire.

We have to take our chances. Last Saturday it should have been 3-0 at Half Time game over . We must be clinical. 5 chances and take just 1 is not good enough if we want Promotion.

Keep the ball on the deck, measure every pass and concentrate. Today really matters lets see a 5 Star performance COYY
