I have read lots of comments on here and having been through 48 years of supporting Bristol Rovers can understand you are going to be down but remember you have just had a great day out ruined only by the result from a season where surely you didnt expect such success? We on the other hand expected to be at least mid table and certainly not (until Christmas)expected to be relegated. To put some of u straight we are NOT a sleeping giant or if we are then we have been sleeping a bloody long time!!
We have to start a frsh because we ended up with a team of players whoi mostly did not deserve to wear the shirt. You oin the otherhand to me looked a very well organised team and even not at your best looked like you play the gamne the right way. I have alwaysa thought you were a friuendly club and it has always been a good experience to play at your ground. We have always been a selling club and every season if we do well lose players. I am for the first time ever wishing that apart from Hoskins who we have already sold we could lose ALL our contracted players!!
There is no guarantee that if Buckle comes to us he will be successful, yes he will PROBABLY be given a bigger budget and like most Managers wil probably bring a maximum of three players with him but from what I see our your team you have some tidy players MOST of whom will stay and whoever you get as Manager (IF HE DOES GO)will have something good to build on. Next season you will have new heroes (and probably villains as well-but thats football) Hold your heads high.Your team and manager did brilliant to get as far as you did and its better to have got there and failed than not to have got there.
Anyway whatever happens think of the GOOD TIMES you have had this season and look forward to next season with optimism because there are lots of good players available on free transfers in the summer and also a lot of good managers out of a job.Not all teams with Money do well but it does help.Just look at the two Sheffield clubs!! Best of luck for the future.
