Fair enough! I do like these two signings, I never saw McPhee play as I was in South Africa for most of that season but seems like he could be a very good squad player. Leadbitter I'm unsure on, whether he will be the first choice or second choice right back, we don't know. Either way, I can't see either of these players being on huge money which might allow for an extra signing. Combined on around £1k per week if Football Manager is anything to go by.

I included all the kids originally as without them it really was looking desperate!

Macklin is clearly a first team squad player but i agree on the others. Yeoman, Plamer, Spear won't be in first team contention next year. Mansell can play RB, Mcphee can play anywhere it seems apart from in goal, Zebroski can play up top or out wide so you may find that a few of those x's are filled by players already here.

You're assuming he wants to play Zebs on the right wing and Oastler at right back. Would you also really consider Ray Spear to be ready for first team football? I'd have reservations on Yeoman, Macklin and Palmer. Spear I would not class anywhere near the first team squad yet.

Interesting they refer to Oastler as a midfielder!

Still brainwashed from the Buckle era or is this his preferred position?

It's quite frustrating we read today that Oastler has 'agreed to sign a deal'. We've heard this on more than one occasion in the past only for it to go pear shaped. I suppose the club want to keep us up to date about something but it mentions on the OS that other clubs are interested, I really hope we see him and others put pen to paper soon.

Holroyd's just signed for Rotherham, I guess he we were never going to realistically going to be able to get him..

The Herald today suggests we've got an 'about average' budget for League 2, let's get some decent players yeah?
