The Janner Indy seemed to suggest that Rice had signed a 2yr deal.

Just had it confirmed from a reliable source. :-D

The club haven't said I don't think. But as Howe, Morris, Oastler all have signed 2 year contracts it's a good bet that Rice has signed on a 2 year contract as well.

i'm more than happy to give Ricey my support. like McPhee, coming back to a club where they've received criticism, and things were less than perfect for them previously, shows guts, bottle and more. I wish them both every success, and in order to help them succeed here this time round, some of you should try cutting them a bit of slack, give them a bit of support, and see if they can take the opportunities presented to them. i seriously hope they both prove the doubters wrong, and i think they will - i'll happily eat my words if they fail, but they deserve a chance.

I actually thought Ricey had a couple of moments of indecision on Saturday - but it was his first game behind a new defence, i'm not sure it's reasonable to expect the transition to be seamless.

As for whether he's a far superior keeper to when he left, i don't know. And i really don't care. Whetever noises are being made about him contesting the Number 1 spot, it's nonsense. He's a back-up keeper. As long as he's satisfied with that, will continue to work hard and isn't draining too much in the way of finances, i remain very satisfied with his presence.

The thing is here ,you can only judge on the evidence that you see with your own eye's,and then come up with an honest opinion.

If that was a league game Saturday we all would have been delighted with Ricey,i am not saying Ricey some how has turned the corner,however credit where it is due,he played 45 minutes Saturday,and apart from an early misunderstanding his keeping was not far off faultless.

I seriously hope that was not a one off from Ricey,to me i am not sure how anyone could pick fault with his display against Bristol City,he got the basic's right,caught and held everything he had to,and his reactions and dive off the floor for that shot into the top corner,could not have been sharper,time will tell,i am not so worried about him now.
