Thought that Morris looked quality last night and a lot taller than I thought he was. Gets hold of the ball and is seeing the run of players brilliantly as he did on a couple of occasions last night. Also took his goal well with his not so strong right foot. :keepie:

This is an excellent signing - he looked full of potential tonight as well as scoring a very good goal

Nice one. I'm happy with that. Fingers crossed Martin 'The King' Ling has amassed a half decent squad - quite an achievement given the general mood a couple weeks back! :clap:

Here are a few opinions from Scunthorpe fans. Not universally positive, but they’re from a club used to being at the top of League 1 and bottom of the Championship: http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tn ... 2116892880" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For those like me with too much time on their hands, here are a couple of his goals from their League 1 promotion campaign in 2008/09 - fast-forward to 1:58 and 2:20. The second one reminds me a little of Jason Fowler: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He scores Scunthorpe’s 3rd in this one: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Look forward to seeing him play tomorrow night. Running Tully ragged shouldn’t be too taxing for him!

A good signing, I reckon...and it should keep Danny Stevens out of the team too.

I saw the thread title and thought we've signed a minor !

I read on and twigged : Morris Major (signing). :nod: :-D

Superb, I really believe we now have a side that can do as well as last season. Excellent keeper, solid defence and competitive midfield that has a fair bit of versatility. The key now will be whether the front line fulfil their potential.

Last year we relied heavily on loans to supplement the side - this year we can use the loan system sparingly and hopefully find that extra spark if needed.

Great news to come home from work and find. Sounds like we have a good player on our hands, think Hereford possibly missed a trick and we've done well to poach him. Like the lads comments on the OS as well, thinking positive and looking to push on from last year. ML has slowly amassed a decent looking squad, one which i think can do a good job for us. I think the main issue will be giving them time to blend in together as there's quite a few new players involved, and quite a few who have been on the preripheries for a while. Will be interesting to watch. Hopefully we can hit the ground running though while Rovers struggle to mix and we can give Bucks some stick.

I also like that we've been giving out two year contracts. I know it can be a risk if you get stuck with players on long contracts who aren't any good but i personally think it shows faith in the players, and negates the risk of them having a great year and leaving for nothing, like Branno.

Very happy with this. Can't claim to know much about him, but like Olejnik he seems to have a good pedigree. Sometimes you just get a feeling about a player, and i think this lad will prove a great aquisition. As alluded to earlier, perhaps it was the recruitment of Rice that meant there was enough budget to bring a player of this quality on the left wing. Can't believe anyone would think that bad business. A left-footed left-winger. Whatever next. We might actually take the field with every player in their natural position next season. How novel.

Good signing. Would agree we need another Striker as Spear and Yeoman wont be quite ready just yet but bringing them in slowly will definatley help. Nice intro by Morris on the OS setting his standards high.

like most on here very pleased but i agree that we are maybe a right winger and a striker short as Yeoman and Spear are not up to it. I wud stil like to see us stretch and a least give Romone Rose a trial or a 6 month prove yourself deal. He looked like a player with potential and he scored a good goal against morecambe and tore Anthony Tonkin to pieces at Oxford before being taken off due to Macklin's red card. Injuries hampered his stay but he's a player with talent and wouldn't cost a massive amount in terms of wages. And don't forget can play up front and wide on the right. For me he wud be the final piece of the jigsaw along with Atieno.

Great work Mr Ling! A great signing and I'm sure that the fans that were worrying beforehand are starting to relax a bit now. Especially if Atieno signs soon. The side seems to be coming together! Really can't wait for the season to start now!

:) :)
