The same thought crossed my mind the other day, but in reality the playing field is often uneven througout the season in different ways - fixture congestion due to postponements because of weather causing tiredness for teams based somewhere with crap weather, new managers and players arriving, and fluctations in form to name but a few. If we win tomorrow Wimbledon could point out that we didn't have to face Sinclair, so we had it easier than they did, but them's the breaks.

I concede this is an unusual and more extreme version of this, but unless Plymouth are thrown out of the league and all results against them declared null and void (a decision which would surely cause massive protest from the teams and fans who have already trecked down there and won points from them, or paid them a fee for a player) then both Burton and ourselves can only turn out against the Plymouth team that appears on the day and try and beat them, the same as we do for any team.

To be honest I think this move from the players is a long time in coming. It's one thing for them to defer wages for the sake of the club but another for the club to abuse this gesture and sack the one guy who said enough is enough. It's come to the point where the players need to look after their own interests, which goes for the youth teamers as well, who I don't begrudge for taking the opportunity to gain experience of league football. And if Argyle simply didn't have a side to put out I don't think the match would get postponed, I imagine they'd lose by default and face some pretty severe penalties, probably point wise and financially, which they can ill afford.

If the senior players go on strike then the junior ones should support them instead of scabbing. Game gets postponed.

Yes of course Paul awayday is correct this is only a threatened strike at the moment, however i can see it happening sonner rather than later if something is not sorted.

Not the first time our club and other's have been caught up in a situation like this, remember Weymouth from our last conference season , our team played the very last match before there unpaided first team walked out on the club we lost and Weymouth i believe only managed to pick 1 more point from the rest of there matchs, from meory so might be wrong, i think they had picked up around 40 poits plus up to and including the match against us.

Should all competion be from alevel playing field ?If that answer is yes, then you could down the road of saying ,well what about Crawley they have more money than everyone else in league 2, or Bristol Rovers have an ave gate of 8000 so they can spend more etc, etc, do not think each division is a level playing field full stop,more so in the premiership, this is a crap situatuion that should not have been allowed to fester this long, i hear some players are being forced to sell houses now, is it 10 months without pay ? These players and the backroom staff have shown loyality beyond the call of duty, and deserve all the support and backing of all involved in football, there club would have folded long, long ago if it was for the selfless action of all there staff.

As said before i do not fully understand whats going on down there, all i can hpe is someone wake's up and smalls the roses, Argyle need sorting out and soon, before they are forced to play the rest of the season with there youth team, and as Matt rightly says, that will turn the league 2 season into a complete farce.

With regards to the strike Matt (I don't like to think you are incorrect) but the strike is yet to be confirmed, so far it is just some of the players threatening.

Plymouth senior players going on strike on Saturday against Burton. Imagine Burton beat the Plymouth XI 20-0 (or whatever). Burton beat us to an automatic promotion place (for example) on goal difference by 19 goals, how is that fair?

I understand that some teams are strong and some teams are weak and that we all have to play each other twice, but surely the playing field should always be level and the PAFC we face should not be many times stronger than the PAFC which Burton Albion face.

Sounds like a bit a left wing whinge, but at least it'll give us all something to talk about.
