I'm not in to this "next five games" malarkey, only the next immediate game . . .

TUFC v Gillingham, at Plainmoor.

Hopefully, it will be 3pts to TUFC.

Where's the match day thread ?

I have allways believed this season was about aiming for midtable safety, i believed the team had enough in terms of ability to achieve that and still do, for me it is a bit early to start the panic.

That said i think the team needs a freshen up, i also see 6 points as a minimum return from the next run of fixtures, anything less and few questions might start to be asked.

A point from Gillingham, a point from AFCW assuming we dont self destruct in either of them. Nothing from Southend, 1 point from Crewe and three against Hereford. I make that 6 points from the next 5 games. If we dont get at least that, then slipping a bit further down is likely

The next five games from here on in are somewhat easier on paper than our previous five but still represent a huge challenge for the lads. The Bradford game is gone now so lets move on to Gillingham at home on saturday. This will be a tough game but we are at home and they have a tendency to be on the wrong end of defeats when they wouldn't have expected it. I'll take a draw. Southend away will be hard. They are top and on fire and if we get a draw there it will be more than expected. AFC Wimbledon at home on a tuesday night will be another tough game as they are doing really well now and are an unknown quantity to a certain extent so although i believe it is a game which we can and should win, i wouldn't be surprised to be on the wrong end of the result. The two games after this are ones which we should be looking at winning. Hereford at home and Crewe away. October could be a defining month in which we slip down the table alarmingly and lose perhaps too much ground on the top 6 or 7 or we could pull out a few results and still just be hanging on in there. What is obvious though is that the squad is too thin and lacking in quality for us to be looking at a play off spot. Hopefully Ling can freshen up the squad a bit and we can get Bodin back and firing asap. Good luck to the lads for the rest of the months games. COYY!!

As it's the next game, I'll settle for 3 points tank you very much.

We should manage 12 points over the next 5 games, although I would take 13

Hopefully we have broken the habit of conceding in the first 10 minutes putting us on the back foot,
and although our forward options may not look the best I think we have always got goals in us because
of other players all over the pitch who are capable of notching one.

The focus has got to be on being tight at the back and with goals in us we will win more than we lose
this season.

A promising start with a new manager and I can see signs of even better to come!

I am confident of getting a win at Bradford on saturday. They do have some goalscorers in the squad which we need to be wary of like Hanson and Hannah but they will always concede goals. I think we should just press them from the off and encourage them to make mistakes. We may as well do that as we always ship goals too so it could be a cracking 4-4 draw!!

Not sure when i'll be down next, hopefully Wimbledon.

Our highest position this season has been 4th, our lowest position 12th.

We are currently in 10th position.

Next up are Shrewsbury. We'll see where we are after that one.

Swiftly on then beyond the next game and the other four to follow, to the home game against the Daggers on January 7th 2012.

Up to and including the Daggers game we will have played 18 more League games, (11 home, 7 away) including 2 games against Argyle home and away. Our festive fixtures in particular, favour us very well with regard to zero travel.

The 11 home/7 away will balance out in the New Year/second half of the season. We need to gain the upper hand this side of Jan 7th.

Now back to the pertinent point. Factor in injuries/suspensions/loss of form and the early rounds of the FA Cup including possible replays, and things can change and look different. If we get to the FA Cup 3rd Round, we won't be playing the League match against the Daggers on Jan 7th.

Then there's the weather. Remember November/December last year ?

I'm looking forward to the next immediate game, hopefully we'll bag 3 points, then we'll move on from there.

A true sage Trojan and I would have said that myself if I had time but I didn't so just went for winning all of them!
