I'm most concerned at how much Di Canio thinks is the average fee for a league two player. Let's face it, he spent a 6 figure fee on Alan Connell... Let's hope he realises that doesn't happen often in League Two! :P

Although what di Canio says initially looks positive, I think this spells bad news for us.

The better Billy plays, and the more we want him, the higher the price will go. We can only hope that - saddled with the significant costs of di Canio's continental adventures - the Swindon board demand he cuts some of the wage bill, allowing us to swoop with a nominal fee and large sell on/international appearances clauses. But I get the impression Swindon aren't short of a few bob and Billy Bodin is clearly a talented player who I would assume could slot into their side at some point.

Unfortunately I think they hold most of the cards.

He's not the easiest to understand is he ? On a par with Capello I reckon, but I think he is pretty much saying that he doesn't really see young Billy getting into his team and that provided "the price is right" we might be able to buy him in January.

Not sure we would be in a position to pay much "up front" if indeed anything, unless we get a decent FA Cup run perhaps ... but I would imagine that any deal would probably involve a pretty hefty sell on clause anyway given his obvious potential. I hope we can do a deal as he doesn't seem (to me at least) to figure much in PDCs plans and if he does go back there I can't see him getting too near their first team anytime soon.

Mind you, I would imagine there would be one or two on the Swindon BOD who wouldn't mind clawin g back some of the money that Danny Wilson "blew" on Benners ... so I'm not too confident about us being able to match their valuation! 8/

What intrested me was what i found out about Ling. We all know Ling followed Bodin for years and wanted him here from day one. To me Ling has something about him. I was told a few weeks back that Ling also missed out on a few targets that he rated on par or better than him.

Bodin has talent and im excited about any future Ling signings.

I don't think Bodin will be like Robinson, Jake wasn't a team player however Billy links up with the front men and Nicholson fantastically well (as I've mentioned many times in my match reports.) Plus his skill running with the ball and his shooting ability are top class. I do hope that we can extend the loan deal as he is a brilliant player in my eyes.

From what little i have seen of him he looks a prospect. Quick, direct, skilful but unlike Danny Stevens has a consistent end product. He has shown more in a couple of games than Stevens has in 4 years. Bodin will probably go back to Swindon if his loan proves successful as i can't see them getting rid of him with the potential he has. Hopefully he will play at the Meadow on Saturday and i can see him live for the first time.

looks a cracking player. young, quick, full of ideas. works well with nico, too. its not a coincidence that theyve both scored in the last two games.

A lot depends on how long Di Canio stays there. He's clearly looking overseas for the majority of his signings, especially up front, which pushed Bodin back in the first place. If Di Canio stays, then hopefully Bodin might want to look elsewhere. If he was available though, there might well be a lot more interest than just us.
