Interseting to know what the take up on this kids for a quid offer was, still think information on these offers has to come out earlier, and be more widley publised.

You were one once Bix! I know what you mean though. I don't hate kids but i prefer not to be anywhere near them. Its a bit tricky as i have a 2 and half year old daughter who i have to look after 5 days a week full time!! Only this morning i had to endure 2 hours of screeching kids when i took my kid to a large indoor play area. I tend to sit on my own away from the other parents as i like my own space. I swear they all think i'm a bit odd. I'm not i'm just a grumpy anti-social father who doesn't wish to engage in trivial conversations about other peoples kids, what they like to watch and stuff like that. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR CHILDREN ONLY MY OWN!! This last week was a mare as the kids were off school and i had to revise my usual plans to go swimming etc and become a recluse. You can't go anywhere without kids, noise, queues and lots of annoying parents when the kids are off. AND the swimming pool costs me 6 quid odd when the week before and the week after half term it costs £2.80. Robbing b******s! I'm sure all you Gulls out there who have kids are not annoying parents though. I tolerate social events involving my child as i know it is good for her to learn to socialise and basically grow up unlike me!

Anyway come on the Gulls today and lets put them away with first half goals like on tuesday. COYY!! :scarf:

On Tuesday about 30 pupils from Sherwell Valley were sitting in the Family Stand, the kids must have been only about 7 or 8.

Didnt we used to do that? I seem to remember a block down the school end of the family stand always being full of kids. Seems to be adults and the press in there now so maybe it's on hold while the new stand gets built?

I have always said that Regiment (about half term games). My daughter is 6 and I took her to Basingstoke, only because I knew she would fall asleep on the way home and it was no big disaster for the morning. I had to pay £5 to get her in, and she must have been the only under 10 year old in there. I think if you let them in for £1 or even free with a paying adult then alot more dads (or mums) would make the spontaneous decision to go.

As for continuous promotion of the Gulls of the Future, surely the club can offer deals to local schools, so for example every home game a different local school get given 30 tickets?

it's a great idea, and as has been mentioned, a bit more advanced warning and advertising wouldn't have gone amiss. it wouldn't of hurt to have made the AFC Dons game on Tuesday a similar offer as well, what with it being half term for the schools. i'm sure it would've attracted a few more.

Not necessarily Forever, we tend to wing it in our household unless we're off to see the in-laws. There will be quite a few dads wondering what to do of a Saturday afternoon with their little darlings and plenty of mums grateful for the break. Or vice-versa, no gender stereotyping here!

Thanks F/J , will look at that site more often

As said great idea, however posting it 11am on the Thursday before the match on our O/S is all to late, many families have already made there plans for the weekend, this should have been on the O/S Monday, and a generic e-mail sent out to all the club have on record on Monday.

forevertufc wrote:Yep a good idea, just interested to know how you found out about this F/J, did you find out by buying a copy of the H/E or by other means ?

The point is, i have been on the O/S and H/E website this morning and there is nothing mentioning this, so is this another example of great marketing by the club, or is this an offer they dont want to many people to know about?
I like to have a quick look at http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Footba ... uay+United every once in a while (where I spotted it). Cant beat a good news aggregator(?) for a quick summary of anything Gulls related on the www (it does sometime throw up stuff about Brighton though) :-D

forevertufc wrote: With respect Andy, i dont think the club could do this for every game, currently "under 12" season tickets are £25 when brought along side an adult season ticket, and "under 18" seaon tickets i think are £80 , so if you made admission prices £1 for kids on every game it would have a very damging effect on season ticket sales, how many adults are buying season tickets to get an "under 12" ticket for £25.

Season ticket sales are very important as we all know, i think kids for a quid on every game would cost the club to much money long term, however do agree with the principle, and think the club could have more promotions along this line, and above all market them properly, so everyone around the bay and surounding areas knows about it.
Yeah, fair points Forever. I've never understood economics anyway! I think that the club should and could be more proactive when it comes to attracting fans whether it be kids, loyal fans who should be rewarded in some way for their support or stay aways that need encouragement to get back down to Plainmoor.
