That was an ex-player returning. And a darn good one at that.

Let go by the weasel and scored a hat trick today for GiLingham. Good judge that Buckle isn’t he?

Anyway some people seem to have hijacked this thread to make cheap jokes.

I think we should get back to Rene. The darLing of the Popside. Shame he has eaten too much Linguini but I’m sure it helps him to shield the ball... (#)

The Crewe fans agree that Howe was a real handful for their defence

He was excellent today, you could see that he wanted to be there, he wanted to get stuck in and hassle the defence. He looks a completely different player from the shambles I saw at Shrewsbury.

Howe is class for this level, said it from the first moment I saw him. He probably lacks a bit of mobility and pace to play much higher but at this level he's quality. Excellent touch, excellent link up man and give him anything around the box he's calm and composed and will score goals.

Just put on another thread, Rovers could have taken him on a free and instead spent money to sign Harrold. I know who i'd rather have.

Happened at Plainmoor against Gillingham, Joe Kuffour.

Did I hear that right on Gulls Player?

There is no finer tribute to a performance IMHO.

It doesn’t happen that often. I can recall Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) for Real at Old Trafford and Ronaldinho for Barca at Real Madrid.

Top Man. Don’t walk away Rene.....
