Those who criticize our generation forget who raised it.

Got to laugh at the fact we were singing "your grounds too big for you" when we couldn't even fill two stands for a local derby!

Enjoy the course Dave and your brief visit to my neck of the woods.

Lol. I'm sure I've been in worse places in my time. I used to work on the door in one of the roughest clubs in Southampton some years back, not much left to surprise me to be honest. Everything will be laid on anyway so I doubt it'll be some hellhole :)

Its not too bad there mate to be honest there are worse places i suppose. My girlfriend comes from neighbouring Swinton too so i'm all too familiar with it. You'll befine mate. There is a nice bar at the Crookhill Park golf club i believe and the Pastures Lodge at Mexborough / Denaby is perfectly fine for a meal and a pint in convivial surroundings. Anywhere else and i wouldn't recommend it! OK, i sound like a snob i know.

That's the place, Andy. I'm sure I can handle it ;-)

Not often 'Cunny' gets a mention on this site Dave. I take it you mean Conisbrough near Doncaster? I grew up playing footy round those there parts y'know. Conisbrough Royals were the worst ever team in the history of football. Worse then Exeter in fact! There is nowt there now though a beautiful castle with the oldest intact Norman keep in Britain but the rest is as a defunct mining village usually is now. Avoid the pubs mate and avoid Denaby Main unless you value your life!! Don't want to put you off going to the course though mate.

Good debate lads and lassies. We are never, all going to agree, one way or another, thats what a debate is all about.

Time now, as Dave has said, to draw a line under this one and move onto something else, namely the mighty Gulls next match at home to Barnet. :scarf:

Back on track with a good win. I'm going for 3-1. Rene, Billy B and Little Danny. :goal:

Gazzableedsgull wrote:look i don't want to fall out with any of our fans .. i'm sure most of you know me from games and yeah i get annoyed when we have no atmosphere at games or when we're not playing well and nobody sings .. so i try to lift everybody, any 'offensive' songs are not meant to cause rifts in our support but is meant to put the other team off, especially when a giant killing is on the cards!! which it was for a good hour or so on Saturday! however we don't sing about Rape, Death or Illness usually do we? it was just a way of trying to get one over on the VERY disappointing Sheffield United fans .. who sung Gary Speed's name for all of one minute all game .. and didn't muster up any energy for their team after being one nil down, I myself do not no who started the chant, but i joined in because i thought it was quite clever, not because i don't think Rape isn't serious! just purely because we made more noise singing that than we did our own songs.

I rest my case your honour. ;-)

We're going down for it, David has to go to an induction course at Newton Abbot for his apprenticeship. I'm supposed to be going on a course at Conisbrough (However you spell it) on the Saturday, I might be able to give you a lift back ;-)
