I am sure Swindon would not let him leave for nothing in the summer. Surely a player with Wales u21 caps would at least be offered terms and being under age they would get some compensation for him.

(The following may well be wrong)

He's out of contract in the summer, we would need to be on crack to pay money for him now when we can have him for nothing in the summer. If he doesn't want to stay after May, then good luck to him, but there is no way we want to part with cash for him.

Matt.

Don't get me wrong Matt, i like the lad too. He is quick, direct, aggressive, tricky not afraid to have a go. A bit like someone Danny Stevens could have been if he had trained on and were any good. I would happily take Billy as a permanent signing but another loan wouldn't be the best way forward for us.

My alphanumeric friend above is absolutely correct. A guy on one of the Town forums was good enough to provide cliff notes of Mr Di Canio's speech after the match and he included a line about not wanting Bodin back because he's too young and insufficiently Italian (second part is untrue).

I'd keep him. I like him, I like the way he plays, I like the goals he scores, I like the boy, he'll do alright.

Matt.

I'm sure I read on one of the Swindon Forums that Di Canio does not want Bodin back because he is too young. I would like Billy to sign with us, again on loan to the end of the season with the view to sign permanently.

I like Billy Bodin as a player , and hope he comes back, however this is the problem with loans, you have no real control over them, Bodin is Swindon's player , and if they decide to keep him there is nothing our club can do about it.

This why i am happy that Martin Ling went down the road of having a squad that is filled with our own player's, rather than the Buckle way of 16 players and rent the rest, if we cant have have Bodin back, i have complete faith in Martin Ling to come up with an equal replcament.

I might get shot down in flames with this but i don't want us to re-sign Billy. Yes he is a precocious talent and he started like a house on fire for us although recently he has been fairly average. My bugbear is the fact that he misses games due to his international commitments which really puts us up against it. Is it really worth it? If we had a greater depth of squad and didn't have to depend on Billy for our primary attacking guile then it would be ok but we do at the minute. It makes it harder for the other lads. I hope Martin does bring some bodies in upfront in the window as i believe it would be a massive mistake not to. We need a bit more variety as an attacking force and we could be so much more dangerous. I trust him to see this and make the requisite transfers, although who would be available i just don't know.

I hope Bodin will return but from this it does look like it might not look so likley any more. :(
This from the Swindon OS
"Billy Bodin is a player who could come back and he is a good prospect. We will coach him more and he can learn, but he is a player that could be a part of five strikers. "

Hopefully he will return and up until now I thought he would. However because we beat Swindon, Di Canio's might not want to let him ago again!

Anyway, well done to all the team today! They played superb!! :scarf:
