Re: League 2 round up

Bought the Football League paper today to read through whilst i sat for 2 hours in one of those brain numbing indoor kiddies play centres whilst my little one played and I noted some interesting points. The exit being the first. :-D

First of all an annoying feature in their League 2 team of the day didn't include ANY Gulls despite us being on of the longer priced teams on saturdays coupon and some would say us causing a minor upset.

Secondly, looking at the leading scorers chart for League 2 there isn't ONE player from the six auto promotion chasing clubs in the top 10. There is only James Constable in the top 10 of the clubs in the play offs too. Duffy at Cheltenham has got 10 and he is in 13th place, Collins of Shrewsbury also has 10 and is in 14th place. McLeod of Barnet leads the way on 17 and the rest are made up of players from mid-bottom table teams. I find this very interesting as i have clamoured for Lingy to bring in a regular goalscorer up top and although it would be beneficial to our team, looking at these stats it is maybe not imperative to success to do that.

It's going to be a very nervy end to the season for many clubs, not least Plymouth Argyle. They really need a team manager with experience. Could be that they'll change their manager after the season's over, if not before.

They're a big club. Where's Paul Buckle? :~D

I'm still looking UP the division and seeing Swindon as automatic promotion rivals, I'm delighted with their dropping points.
Our run in looks like one from which we could reasonably expect a decent yield, we are in the hunt for top three, not scrabbling to finish mid table and proud because we're 'only little Torquay'.

oxford 2-0 up with ten men at ht, probably a bad result for us if swindon dont come back, extra pressure over our shoulders which we dont need if we are to stop our mini blip becoming a real problem?

both oxford goals scored AFTER the red card, football really is a funny old game isnt it??

I always had faith in gillingham! 5-4!
killer for argyle
Swindon march on and handy draw for two teams outside playoffs

at the moment it looks like 2 from 3 for the final 2 Play-Off places, Us, Oxford and Port Vale. Obviously i'm not counting our Chickens just yet but we've got 5 points on them two and Port Vale are away at Accrington on Saturday, which is always a Banana skin for most teams and Oxford are at home to Swindon, who are now 2 nil up at home to Burton. It does look like we may still have that 5 point cushion on Saturday Evening. However i think this weekend could be ideal to maybe got 8 points ahead of them going in to 2 tricky home games in the coming weeks (Shots and Brizzle). I am aware though that our cushion could be very easily cut down to 2 points!

did we actually make the gillingham keeper have a save on saturday? i know we hit the post early on but cant remember too many efforts at goal. similar at cheltenham only two efforts in the game.

fancied hereford to get a draw tonight, still might, but didnt expect them to be two up.
