Team of the Week table

Just for a laugh, I headed back over the archives for the season to see what the table would look like, were it decided on TOTW nominations (where two teams are tied on points, I have listed them alphabetically).
I'll keep it updated to the end if the season and see how closely it resembles the final standings.

1. Torquay - 26
2. Crawley - 22
3. Southend - 22
4. Swindon - 20
5. Morecambe - 19
6. Shrewsbury - 18
7. Gillingham - 17
8. Aldershot - 15
9. Bristol Rovers - 15
10. Oxford - 14
11. Barnet - 13
12. Crewe - 13
13. Plymouth - 13
14. Hereford - 12
15. Accrington - 11
16. Cheltenham - 11
17. Rotherham - 11
18. Wimbledon - 11
19. Bradford - 10
20. Dagenham - 10
21. Port Vale - 10
22. Macclesfield - 8
23. Burton - 6
24. Northampton - 6

So, the mighty Gulls top of the table then.
Interestingly (he says), Plymouth were the last team to have a player nominated. Perhaps more surprisingly is that Oxford were the second to last team to be nominated.

A theme emerges, without actually looking at too many names or positions, I do seem to recall as I went though them that we have had only one striker (Rene Howe) and he was nominated only once. The remainder of our points have come from the back. It was after Christmas before Bobby won us a point, but Nico has been featured half a dozen times (picking up as many points as the bottom two teams, on his own). Suntan has won just a single point, and Manse is couple behind Nico. Others for us have been more than one each for Ellis and Saah, as well as the odd nomination for dearly departed Robbo.

Might do some more in depth analysis tomorrow (since I have a lot of time to kill).

Matt.
