Thats what good teams do. Win when they are not playing well. Happens to the best teams in the world never mind teams like us.

We were crap on friday (according to reports) and won, not for the first time this season.They missed a pen. After an hour on saturday against Vale we were appalling and managed to win with a bit of good fortune and at times this season we have held onto a lead by the skin of our teeth. As well as the players have done this season, luck HAS played a part and if we had the usual Torquay luck then we would probably be sitting where Oxford are at the moment instead of in 2nd place. Like Danny says , we deserve it and we'll take it all day long. If the team are playing crap and losing every week then obviously there are reasons to complain but to moan about playing shit when we win AND KEEP ON winning then it's a staggering state of affairs. I spent well over £200 to get to the Vale game and we were atrocious BUT WE WON and that to me is the most important as i want a successful and thriving football club at Torquay.

Don't we deserve a bit of luck!? In all the years that I've been supporting Torquay, luck hasn't been on our side. This year, I'll admit we've had a bit of luck, but so what I say! So many teams have had luck against us over the years, so us having a batch of it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

On another note, it hasn't been all luck! Winning games 1-0, knowing how to keep a lead is not luck at all, its pure skill and technique. For goodness sake stop moaning and enjoy supporting TUFC!

My view on the situation is that last night did have a large element of luck about it, exactly like the Aldershot game earlier in the season.

But that does not mean that every 1-0 is like that. Off the top of my head the wins at Cheltenham, Crawley and Rotherham were all of a completely different nature. In those games we gave as good as we got, scored and then soaked up everything that came at us fairly comfortably. That's the sign of a good side.

In my 10years of religious awayday following, I haven't seen any other TUFC side I could be so sure could close out a 1-0 win.

We rode our luck last night, but that doesn't mean we rode our luck all season.

If it had been posted by someone other than Brucie then I don't think anyone would have disagreed much with it. Sanchez says they were mugged, Ling describes it as smash & grab, & Brucie says 'daylight robbery' (although I thought it was played under floodlights )

You can't have the number of 1-0 wins we've recorded & put them all down to luck; good organised defending & tucking away your chance when it comes has a lot to do with it, but on Saturday I thought the team looked a bit tired (understandably) & last night we appear to have been a bit sluggish. If Brucie listens to a commentary which describes Barnet having the majority of possession, creating most of the chances, & Martin Ling himself admitting "We were second to every challenge, second to every ball in the first half " then I find the questions he poses in his post to be quite reasonable.

I would agree with Brucie fully in describing it as a 'great win'. Particularly when we know a few of the lads are carrying knocks, played a lot of games in a short space of time recently, or have sections of our own support on their backs.

A much needed full week before the next game, hopefully we can recharge the batteries a little & again dominate the opposition in the style that Brucie & the rest of us prefer to see.

This was my point. MAn Utd have won ugly many times. Who cares if it was daylight robbery, thats how you progress in football. Brucie is such a party pooper.

I get the impression that Brucie is happier when we play badly and lose, then he can have a real dig. And this from somebody who defended the fat cheat from Crawley earlier in the week. I didn't go to the game last night, so can't really say how we played. I did go last week, we were awful first half, much better second and, I think, fully deserved to win. Teams who get promotion generally DO ride their luck. When you are on a bad run, nothing goes well for you (like Barnet perhaps), but I frankly don't care that we may have been a tad lucky last night. 75 points, second place, that isn't luck, and I am happy to celebrate.

Yep, this is the sign of a good team, to be able to play as badly as it sounded like we did last night yet get the points. Luck with the missed penalty perhaps, but I can't recall us having this sort of ability to win so many games in all my time supporting TUFC. I love it.

All the best teams win ugly sometimes, also, a sign of a good team is to be able to play badly and still win. Yes, there was a large element of luck last night, but, on how many occassions have we been on the other side of that type of luck. The referee and linesman made some very questionable decisions against Torquay last night but we battled on. Be happy with the three points, our position in the table is evidence that we have a very good team, so don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
