Looks perfect for us! I also like the name!

...WE'RE BACK in the good news at last! (so it seems!) :)

The name of the new stand has been decided. "Bristows Bench" I quite like it and its a fitting tribute to a good man who's helped this club alot.

The cost of the demolition/rebuild at the last estimate was £1.9 mill ?

Whatever happened to quotations, especially fixed quotations these days ?

Quotations, are of course, to be found in various works called "Books Of Quotations".

Here's a quotation of the cuff . . . " Never underestimate the value of a quotation."

The financial consequences of the Grandstand demolition/rebuild on the playing budget is long term. Ask this question : What is the length of a standard mortgage ?

Good point. Didn't think about that! At least it's a sign of some sort of progress. They say no news is good news, but it would be nice to find something out soon.

Went up to the ground today and there were a load of markings for the new stand. They run about 6 feet further out than the original stand, and the stand looks like it will run past that box to the away turnstiles.

I havn't heard this but it does sound sensible. I was walking past the other day and what I pressume are outlines for the new stand sprayed onto the path behind the Grandstand.

It's now the 1st of June and looking out of the window over the Bronx (Ellacombe) towards Plainmoor, I don't see a mushroom cloud full of asbestos dust indicating demolition has begun.
I read a while back in the HE that demolition couldn't begin for a month. Not sure how long ago I read that, maybe two weeks? I don't think they can start demolishing the stand until the school term has ended, as the main entrance to Westlands is right there, and it could be quite dangerous?!

Just a thought.

I'm in St.Marychurch tomorrow so will call in to Plainmoor on the way home and will poke me nose in and see what's happening.

Oh all right then, I might aswell get me self a season ticket while I'm nosing about. :(

Not sure how reliable this is, anyone else hear/see this?
