Yeah its alright, at some point I'l realise that posting when back from the pub isn't a great idea. Sarcasm doesn't come across too well on t'internet.

Matt

As said above re-Charlton and West Ham I really doubt that Spurs would even put their main Academy side out against our Academy, clubs like Spurs spent millions on their youth scheme per year alone and Spurs youth set up has produced and still is producing international players, does any one really think our Academy drew 2.2 with theirs, nah.

You will probably find it was a Spurs development or soccer school side that our lads drew 2.2 with, still never the less a fantastic result.

Brooker Sorry bud I was just messing with you, I would never have put your brothers name out here on the site, I don't know your brother, however its likely my lad will know him.

It's ok, Jimmy Savile is dead.

Well done, F'rev, by the way, I had a quick Google (stop sniggering at the back) and the only side I could find that had drawn with Spurs Academy in the last [little while] was Southampton.

Come on then, someone post a link to the kid's profile on the OS, thus enlightening us all, but preserving the nippers identity (which, by the way is GENIUS marketing).

Matt.

Genious Brooker can't name him but, he played in the team that beat Charlton and drew with Spurs so that narrows it down to the under-14's, I am right, is Forever biggin it up Sherlock Holmes.

can't really name him, but can say that after beating Charlton, his team went on to draw 2 2 with Tottenham. (he didn't concede any)

This weeks youth matches are postponed. Shame as I had the U12's!

Come on Dave, you know the rules, there is to be ABSOLUTELY NO DISAGREEING WITH ANYONE ABOUT ANYTHING EVER! on this forum.

Dear new guy,

This is the internet, what's more, it's an internet forum, a place for people who have very little in common, but are bound by a single quirk of nature, geography, or, in this case, football, to share ideas and thought and OPINIONS. If you say something here, people will disagree with it, because that is human nature, we don't all think the same way. If you are at all uncomfortable with the idea of this, then please switch off your computer and go to the pub, or read a book, but do not venture into this world again, for it shall never change. It is what it is and shall be forevermore.

Come on Brooker, spill the beans, who is the kid? Also, if anyone recognises a young boy (possibly under 12s) who has hair like Chelsea's David Luis and goes either by the name De Rijke or Thompson (or Thomson, or some other homophone) can they please give me a run down on him?*

Matt.

*Asking for a friend, one J. Savile. **

** Not actually true, he's the son of a guy I know and I'd like to know how he's getting on, you know, from a neutral perspective.

What on earth are you saying sorry for, I have not questioned your post or had a go at you, I am not really sure where you get the idea I know more about goalkeeping than you or anyone for that matter, I get the feeling from your posts you know more than your letting on, I get the feeling your trying to tell us something without really telling us.

Who is the respected coach, and you keep going on about this highly rated u-12 keeper, do you know him is he a family member.

My only knowlege of goalkeeping is what I have learnt through supporting my son who is an u-15 goalkeeper, who was with Torquay before going a specialist goalkeeping school, it's more about youth systems that I have some background idea on and how they work, purely as a former youth football coach and volunteer scout for a football coaching school which was linked to a number of pro clubs.

Back in July I spoke to a professional scout then working for Cardiff now with Bristol City, who very much gave me the impression that a lot of clubs would be turning to advanced development centre systems rather than turning lads away who were not quite at the level for their main acadmies.

The big premier league clubs and some of the bigger London clubs have been running satellite/development centre's or soccer schools for years now which are used as a staging post only the very best go through to their main acadamey, thats is all I am saying before we start worrying about our kids being knicked and loss of compensation it doesn't quite work that way, and before some of these kids have their heads turned by thoughts of going to arsenal I would say they seriously need to find out just what they are being offered.

At the start of the season our u-11's beat West ham 4-3 and Brooker says his half brothers team beat Charlton 5-1, these are great results no matter what, but I really seriously doubt they played the main acadmey sides of these clubs, you would be playing against some of the best kids in the whole country, and whilst our acadmey has improved a great deal, they are not any where near the level required to beat the top youth sides from West Ham and Charlton.

Its not the under 12 guy, bit older, we don't share a surname, and he doesn't want to spread it around too much, being part of a team. Theyre in London at the moment playing a few friendlies, and they beat charlton elite 5-1 yesterday! Our academy really does seem to be coming along nicely with Geoff at the helm.

Anyone have a fixture list of where, when and who our young teams play? May pop along to watch. After all they are part if our club and deserve our support I think.

won't say names but my half brother (who is a keeper c/o kenny vaisey) has recently been told by Geoff Harrop that Arsenal are keeping an eye on him. Doesnt mean too much, but our academy does seem to be drawing the right kind of attention!
