Agree Dave T is great for the away games, always thought it a shame he never gets the odd home game to do, must be a contract thing I guess.

Saturday was particularly bad, I agree. He mentioned the third goal as an after-thought about thirty seconds after it had gone in, without even changing his speed or tone of voice. I had to check the BBC site to see whether it was 2-0 or 3-0.

I like Steve Breed and Chris Fleet doing the co-commentary, because their fans attitude really shines through. It's much easier to tell what's happening at the game and they're a lot more honest, simple (in a good way) and knowledgeable in their descriptions.

No-one beats Dave Thomas though. If you could get an MBE for services to exiled Torquay United fans then he'd be Dave Thomas MBE to the power fifteen thousand eight hundred and fourty-six.

I think Chris does a grand job, its like having a real fan in the commo box to make remarks on the plays..
Alan is one of the best at play by playm after last Sats fiasco it was good to know where the plays were being made throughout the match,, long may it last and happy retirement "pete" whoever.

Matt.
On Tuesday against Burton it was Alan Richardson and Chris Fleet doing the commentary/summary. Chris Fleet also forgets he's in the commo box and was not best pleased when the Ref waved on the early penalty call.

I believe it's just another version/contraction of cursing. Quite common usage in the states. Im sure happy or wisconsin will let us know if it's still common parlance there :)

Cussing, often written cussin'. It's a perfectly normal word. It's not my fault you spent your school days sniffing glue rather than attending class! =D

I like it when Stevie Breed has a go, he forgets that he isn't in the stands and starts shouting and cussing about the ref, just so funny.

And what about the match summarisers at Plainmoor ?

Let me just say I'm glad the moaning Ken Furphy ain't doing it anymore.

And earlier in the game, when Zebrowski was on the ball, yep he was dump, however judging by his accent not sure he was from round these parts.

furzehamgull wrote:Has anyone noticed the terrible lag on the commo through Gullsplayer as well now? They seem to be trying to get over the commentary dropping out persistantly by 'looping' the commentary back 30 seconds or so each time meaning you hear the same passage of play again. The problem is that you get what I had yesterday - texts and internet updates of goals minutes before the 'live' commentary broadcasts it.

I knew of both 2nd half gulls goals well before they commentated on it, and reckon it must have been at least 5 minutes behind come the final whistle!

This only seems to have started last week, but it is not the answer - unless it is just me this is happening too?
I've had the same problem for the last two games now, I've found out whose scored before I hear it on Gullsplayer. :(

As for the commo yesterday, it was the worst I think I've ever heard. This pete fella was just terrible, seemed more interested in his overview of the game every ten minutes.

I did chuckle afterwards with his "Charlie" Zebroski call.

I nearly switched over to the Barnet commo instead!!
