In reality, I'm pretty sure that Bucks willl be reminding the Board with every offer that he makes that whatever happens if we don't sell Zebs now then OK he will pick him up for NOTHING next summer. At the end of the day, all parties concerned know that there is a point at which TUFC will cave in and accept their offer ... it might be £30k, it might be £50k, it might be £75k ... who knows? But there is a point, as we all know, at which TUFC will do the deal ... it's just a matter of how much Buckle wants to get him in now, or whether he is prepared to wait another 12 months.

As for Oastler, I would be very surprised if he doesn't move on.
Rumours going round that BR offered £30k after first offer turned down.Board are seriously considering it.
Hope this is not the case. I think he is a much better player than Benyon and look what we got for him.
On the downside he does seem to carry a bit of 'baggage' with him which Buckle knows all about.

He more than likely left because he was offered more money and it is easier to commute from his home in Rotherham

I think the club realise kids are the future, hence the clubs excellent offers on the 2 junior tickets, 18 and unders for less than £3.50 a game (though I notice the club web site hasnt been amended to include the u12 offer). In addition, the number of time you see Frank and his team out in the local schools is pretty impressive, they regularly get publicity pics in the Herald.

Whilst I agree that "People of a certain age aren't going to change their habits and start going to Plainmoor" regularly, you would like to think with all the publicity over the playoffs, some would have been tempted to dip their toes into Plainmoor. Its not like it was a wet cold February night !!

Would have to disagree with that statement. He could and should be doing an awful lot more to try to encourage kids to Plainmoor.
My son is just about to finish Year 6 and Frank and his team have never once been to his school which is within spitting distance of Plainmoor.
Frank seems to have his favourite few select schools as the same faces keep appearing in the free seats in the Family Stand year after year.
There are 30ish Primary Schools in Torbay that means each year he should be able to get to the majority of them and persuade the headmaster to get the kids to Plainmoor.

Re: Craig Stanley

I was speaking with Craig's dad after the Shrewsbury game and he said he wanted to play for us but the club were waiting to see where we would be before making an offer. He intimated that as long as the offer was reasonable he would more than likely sign.
I also asked him if it made any difference with the situation at Morecombe changing. He said he doubted it very much and they hadn't been in contact with him at all.

Parry wrote: Hadn't really considered this. With whats sure to be a sell out/near sell out on saturday and what with both games on sky we should make a fair bit of money from this.

I'm sure it's been said before but all the money from the 4 playoffs is put into a pot and we get 12.5%
TV money is about £40k per game I think
Then you have to allow for the extortionate fee the police will charge for policing the home game, travel etc. costs to Shrewsbury, players/manager bonuses, CL's bonus :Z and other ancillary costs.
We should make some money but not that much in the grand scheme of things
